This was my family first stop on our drive to Madison. It's free to visit and they have so much to see. There is a part about the history of the surrounding area, the Dairy Shire or Hall of Fame, an exhibit about Lincoln and much more. You could easily spend a couple of hours here. If you're in the Ft. Atkinson area this is definitely worth a visit.

This "mound" is unique - the only remaining intaglio in the world, apparently. Must see if you're in Wisconsin and interested in Native culture.

Glacial River Bike Trail

I have to admit I am not a bicyclist at all. I was driving down the highway when I suddenly spotted a covered bridge, which was odd since there are only few left around, and I thought I knew them all, but not this one. Then I realized it was on a bike trail, not a road proper. Fortunately, very near there was a "park & ride" parking lot, at the intersection of Highway 26 and County Line road that separates Rock and Jefferson counties. So I parked there and walked back less than half a mile to the covered bridge. It turned out it was not a leftover of the bygone era, but recently constructed bridge, out of the leftovers of the demolished barn nearby. Still cool!
