There was so much to see in this wee gem of a local area museum, the volunteers were friendly and chatty, I especially loved all the vintage wedding dresses , many of which had the photos of the brides wearing them, my partner enjoyed all the old carriages and traps upstairs, so interesting...and it's FREE!

Open once again after lockdown. The car park was nearly full, with walkers and cyclists. £1 to park here. Beautiful walks, fresh air and a good panoramic view of northern Scotland in the distance from the memorial stone pyramid. 1.5 hrs walking was just right for us following one of the marked routes.

We are a visitor Centre based at the mouth of the river Spey, where it meets the North Sea. Dolphins are regularly spotted at the mouth of the river Spey and close to the shoreline, along with ospreys, seals, a huge variety of bird life and the occasional otter! You can book a private tour of the historic Tugnet icehouse (Scotland's largest surviving icehouse), or book onto the Explore the Bones family activity. Currently the cafe is a takeaway only facility, where you 'queue for your brew' inside the building and take your delicious homebake, soup or sandwich away with you, out onto the beach or around the Centre grounds. The eco-friendly gift shop is also open with a wide range or gorgeous products. The Centre is the public face of the charity Whale and Dolphin Conservation, so come and have a fun day out and learn about whales and dolphins and support our charity work to protect these wonderful creatures!
Fabulously entertaining place jam packed with educational material about the local wildlife including dolphins. CCTV cameras trained on the sea can be manipulated from within the dolphin centre by visitors to spot dolphins, seals, ospreys, wading birds etc. Educational posters on the walls and colouring books of dolphins etc, complete with crayons, are laid out for the kids. The friendly staff are keen to assist and advise adults and children alike. If you're lucky you may spot an osprey fishing at the mouth of the Spey, where the dolphin centre is located. A souvenir shop is attached as well as a very pleasant restaurant which serves delicious coffee and scrumptiously fresh meals as well as scones. A leg of the Speyside Way starts/finishes here giving an opportunity of combining a walk along the banks of the river with your visit to the dolphin centre. Going to the nearby Spey Bay golf course ? Include the dolphin centre in your trip. Very much worth a visit.

I booked a taxi at the last minute to go to the train station..... I live in the country and sometimes hard to find. My driver turned up early, was extremely courteous and opened the door for me.... but I asked if I could sit in the front as i am not a good traveler in the back of a car ..... then my phone went flat and he charged it for me. Got to the train station in plenty of time. Again. Got out and opened the door.... what a gentleman. I was heading down to the Michael Buble concert and my lift let me down at the last minute. But ACE taxis saved the day..... and they are ACE. I would use them again. Unfortunately I cannot remember my drivers name... think he lives in garmouth..... thank you so much.

If you’re looking for a magical day out in North-East Scotland, visit our Walled Garden at Gordon Castle which is being lovingly restored to its former glory. Over two hundred years old, it is one of Britain’s largest and oldest working kitchen gardens. Complete with rare and heritage plants, the garden walls are lined with 259 espaliered trees giving the keen gardener plenty to admire. At an impressive eight acres, it has been re-designed by award-winning designer Arne Maynard to allow a modern twist on a traditional design. In addition, the recently restored Victorian Mackenzie & Moncur glasshouse displays an impressive amount of delicious tomatoes in the summer months. Watch our dedicated team of gardeners at work as this magical garden evolves with the seasons and bears fruit for our café visitors ensuring quality home-grown food served all day.
The walled garden is quite magnificent as it includes about 700 fruit trees, a huge number of superb tulips, excellent borders, vegetables, excellent information boards and a wonderful area for youngsters. It is well worth the £5 and without question we will be back when we are in the area.
