What to do and see in Florida, United States: The Best Walking Tours

May 7, 2022 Timmy Ribble

Not just for retirees and theme park enthusiasts, the Sunshine State offers beautiful beaches, pristine diving conditions, and sizzling nightlife. Salsa the night away in a smokin’ hot Miami club, or swing away at one of Kissimmee’s many premium golf courses. An airboat tour of the Everglades is an unforgettable adventure – just look out for alligators! For the risk-averse, a lazy day spent on the soft sands of an Emerald Coast beach is as rejuvenating as a spa treatment.

Beginning with our introduction to Cuban food at El Siboney, a cool tropical drink at the Rum Bar and ending with Cuban Coffee at the Cuban Coffee Queen Roasters the tour was thoroughly enjoyable. Our guide, Meredith, did a wonderful job at each food/beverage stop as well as some stops in between, giving us explanations of the history and cultural events that made Key West what it is today. From the Cigar factory that is now home to the Health Department to the reason there are free range chickens all over town, we learned a lot more about the town than we expected on a food tour. It was well worth it.
