This small coastal botanical site certainly deserves it’s special designation as a place of wonder. I never realized there were insect eating plants in colder areas like this. They usually seem reserved for the tropics. This park has a boardwalk and some platforms from which you can easily view the pitcher plants Darlingtonia californicus up close, take pictures and enjoy this unique treasure of nature.

Our mission is to 'To Honor our Veterans by Educating our Public'. Our military members (both past and present) have defended the freedoms we all enjoy; we provide an avenue for veterans to display and share their personal artifacts, memorabilia and memoirs, as a history of their honorable military service.
This little gem of a museum is well laid out, and had a wealth of interesting personal military artifacts/vignettes and easy to view/read/digest history. We have been to many museums but while in Florence stopped in with 3 grandchildren (8,6,4) and were SUPER impressed with this gem! We only had an hour, but could have spent more, and will return! Both personal stories and memoriabilia to engage the viewer in each theatre of war. Very well done and rich assortment of personal letters/stories and items donated by local veterans of many theatres of conflict. We shall return!

Considered the largest sea cave in the United States, this site is where Steller sea lions and their cubs take shelter each year. Sea Lion Caves is a privately owned wildlife preserve and bird sanctuary. The Caves has been in operation since 1932 preserving and protecting the wildlife under our care. We are open 363 days a year only closed on Christmas and Thanksgiving day. Our normal hours of operation are 9 am until dusk year round. We are not a zoo and the animals are free to come and go as they please. The sea lions can usually be found at either of four locations on the property; in the Cave, in the water, at the Lookout/rockery, and on other nearby rock ledges. HOWEVER, THE SEA LIONS ARE NOT ALWAYS IN THE CAVE OR MAY BE MIGRATING OUT OF AREA - THEY ARE WILD ANIMALS AND COME AND GO AS THE PLEASE. CALL AHEAD FOR INFORMATION. Self-guided are the rule, but guided tours are available.
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit here..There were plenty of Sealions in the cave.. Stunning views.. lovely gift shop..A shortish walk from the entrance to the lift where u go down to the caves... Definitely recommend going & it gets very busy
