The Boardroom Climbing

A mighty fine indoor climbing venue just off the A55/M56 gateway to Wales. Stylish, relaxed and friendly with some beautiful problems, lead and TR lines. Over 1000m2 of climbing and home to the UK's first Psicobloc wall. A "dry" DWS/Highball boulder 8 meters above a custom foam mat giving 13 meter lines, solo, up to 8b. One word... Sick!!! We run taster sessions, induction to climbing, kids clubs, birthday parties, wheelchair climb/abseil, yoga classes, physio and sports massage. Great coffee and light refreshments. Free WiFi.

This climbing gym beats any around. I have bouldered for a couple of years now, living in Chester, then Shropshire and now Surrey I have tried many places. This climbing wall is the best I have been to. They re-route both upstairs and downstairs roughly every 4 weeks, meaning there is always new problems to try. They also have a small gym area to strengthen up after. The cafe is amazing and very well priced.

Loggerheads Country Park

We arrived during the afternoon, and parking was available right outside the entrance. Parking wasn't too expensive (£2 for 2-3 hours) and was free entry into the park! We enjoyed walking up the cliff, and seeing the amazing views at the top which was worth the walk! The woodlands had a variety of wildlife present such as squirrels and various birds. The walk around the river is highly recommended. We would definitely return if we find ourselves in the area again.

Wepre Park

Reviewed By Philfromcheshire

I have visited here several times and it still remains very popular for everyone. Plenty of parking spaces, but it can get busy during holiday time. There is a lovely visitors centre which has a map of Wepre Park, public toilets and a cafe which serves hot and cold food and ice cream. You can sit outside the information centre with your dog on a lead. There is also some benches and rocks to sit on under the trees. There are picnic tables near by. Plenty of well worn paths leading you in various directions around Wepre Park. There is also a boarded path which is great for anyone using pushchairs, you can walk down to the river and dogs and children can have a paddle. Lots of birds and wildlife can be heard as you walk through the Brook walk. There are plenty of benches to sit and relax on along the way. You can also take a visit up to Ewloe Castle or take the many steps up to what was an old golf course. It is now a wildlife area full of bullrushes and wild flowers. You then follow the path through woodland to the Rosie Pool which is popular with people who want to fish. You can walk around Rosie Pool, but if you have a dog you must keep the dog on a lead. There is also a lovely little garden behind the visitors centre which the staff/volunteers do keep tidy.Although there was a few bottles and cans thrown in the small pond, lots of wildlife to see and benches to sit and relax. There is also a large playground for children, teenagers and adults and a skate park near to the car park. There is so much for children to see and do here and on a nice day it is nice to take a picnic and relax. The park is very popular with walkers, joggers, mountain bikers, dog walkers and families but also nice if you want a relaxing stroll on your own. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Fantastic 360 views from the top of the highest hill in the Clwydian range. Car park £2 all day and toilets, picnic tables and children’s play area so great day out. Took us 40 mins to get to the Jubilee tower at the top and with circular walk via Offa’s Dyke oath, our visit was 2 hours total. Be warned though this is a popular place especially on sunny days

I was looking for something a bit different to do with my family over the Christmas holidays....What a fantastic experience!!! We chose the Bronze option (10min warm up then a 25 lap race) Every age group had the best time. The staff are very friendly and professional. I recommend it without hesitation. It was so good we’re going to make it a Xmas tradition... can’t wait for next year!!!

Visited with my husband and 4 and half year old. What a unique place. Your given a work book to play detective and make your way through a variety of different themed spaces - all educational . EG road safety, internet safety , kitchen safety , bullying etc You have to do various activities or watch short videos in each section then answer questions in your work book. We had the added bonus of it being Easter and there being hidden eggs you had to find in each area to claim a chocolate prize . Although most of it went over my little boys head he still loved it as we did.
