A lovely walk through the woods, complete with the sight and sound of running water from the stream next to the trail. Not too long to walk, straight path, and easy to traverse. An easy walk for someone who wants to enjoy the beauty of nature.

Loved this hike so much that I chose it for my proposal when I decided to get engaged. We have done the hike in the summer when the river was dry and were able to hike up the river bed and waterfalls using ropes. The overlook area has an amazing view of the sunset. It is a difficult trek to the waterfall near the end of the hike but so worth it. Since it is difficult to get to you will have some privacy to enjoy the waterfall and scenery before heading back down the trail. Great hike!

We biked the Catherine Valley Trail, the Seneca Cayuga Canal Trail, and the Keuka Lake Outlet trail on this trip and Keuka was by far the prettiest. We started from Desden so that it would be uphill on the way out and downhill on the way back. There was a beautiful stream along the entire trail with two beautiful waterfalls. Seneca Mill Falls was amazing and right on the trail. There were so many places to picnic along the way, including one wonderful stream side spot with a picnic table midway between Seneca Mill Falls and Pen Yan. The trail is pretty rough so you will need a hybrid or mountain bike. This has to be one of my all time favorite bike paths, despite the bumps! And it was not crowded at all on Labor Day weekend. Amazing.

We decided to hike the Cacadilla Trail in Ithaca, NY it starts out pretty easy but there are some spots where the stairs are steep and challenging for older folks and small children. Plus going up is one type of challenge while coming down presents another if you are afraid of heights, you may not want to attempt this hike. Other wise we all met the challenges from my 4 year old Grandson to myself at 66. Enjoy the outdoors and try this hike or just do part of it and enjoy the wonders of nature!
