After about an hour drive in beautiful scenery, my daughter and I ( senior citizen) arrived at the Civa pearl farm. Tide was out and we were met by a very attentive young man and helped into a skiff to take us out to the structure where the pearl farmer does his magic. For a 35 Fijian dollar fee , Claude gave us a very informative and interesting demonstration on pearl farming and his sidekick Rizzi(?) took us out to snorkel and show us amazing and beautiful underwater delights. Of course the reason we went , was to hopefully purchase a pearl. And Claude did not disappoint. There was a wide range of colors , grades , and prices. Claude worked with my daughter to get a bracelet with a beautiful yellow pearl exactly how she wanted. It was delivered the next day as promised. And I was delighted with my necklace as well. All for around 600 Fijian. We spent about 2 hours there. Our taxi was 75 Fijian dollars round trip and he waited there for us. It was an awesome experience and I have some great memories to share with my daughter. Be sure and take a dry bag with your important stuff ie. credit card, cash , towels if you plan on snorkeling , snorkeling gear and a change of clothes. Or not if you don’t mind staying wet for a bit. All the cabs there have plastic covers on their seats so being wet is not a problem.

We spent a great morning at Alice's workshop, visiting and blowing one piece of glass under their supervision. Great team, very professional and lovely people who are passionate and likes sharing their art and skills with visitors. One can bring back home the little creation we made, and buy the colourful and beautiful creations Alice and her skilled Fijian team make. The workshop itself is a lovely place located on the sea side. We're very happy of this rare opportunity to do such a craft and admiring the pieces they design which integrate, play and renew Fijian traditional patterns and objects in a foreign art.

Natadola Beach

Considered one of Fiji's best beaches, Natadola features pure white sand, many much-needed shade trees and horses for hire - both gentle rides for children and adult-level treks as well.

Heaven can wait ????. This bay and beach is almost indescribably good. Turquoise blue water with the reef way back, pristine sand, gentle breeze and an Intercontinental Hotel at one end too. We did horse riding, got a massage and had a Pina Colada as well.

Such an experience to spend a day on such a remote island in the South Pacific. The islanders were so welcoming, especially the teachers at their primary school.Good swimming and snorkelling opportunities. Speed boat tours from 10Fijian Dollars upwards. Crystal clear waters. Pity about the islander who imprisoned a sea turtle in a bath and who was charging 5 dollars for tourists to photograph this beautiful and endangered species.

Waitavala Natural Rock Waterslide

Reviewed By SarahJFisk - Berkeley, United States

If you are young, athletic and agile, this place is magic! You have to hike thru the forest along a stream and then cross the stream and climb over some rocks to get further up. Then you can slide down a series of small cascades in the stream and end up in a bigger pool right where you crossed the stream. Its hella fun for kids and adults - but fair warning: its at your own risk! There's no one there to sue if you get hurt. And of course, its fun to watch if you don't want to try it. Oh - and please don't litter. This is a working forest ecosystem to be protected and preserved.

The MCYC is a beautiful outdoor bar right on the water under a huge traditional Fijian hut. It's a great place to meet other guests and visiting yachties and have a chat over a few drinks. You can also get pizzas or self-BBQ packs delivered from the resort cafe.
