With the endeavor of the historical works at Fenglin Town and the support of Fenglin Town Office, on January 22, 2009, the idle traditional tobacco building by the side of the Fenglin Hakka Museum was transformed into an innovative plant dye and research center, named the “Flower Handkerchief Plant Dyeing Workshop”. It was hoped that by integrating local plants and the features of Hakka women, simple, honest, and elegant, to develop a plant dye workshop with regional characteristics in order to promote the beauty of Fenglin. “Flower Handerchief” is an essential accessory for Hakka women, representing their charm and tenderness. During the Plant Dye DIY half day tour (appointment is needed for groups of more than 10 people), there will be teachers introduce the features of plant dyes and DIY procedures. Even though this is your first experience of dying fabrics, you may learn very easily and quickly!
