The mosques, bazaars, and Turkish baths of Istanbul could keep you happily occupied for your entire trip: an eyeful of breathtaking architecture here, a good-natured haggle over a carpet there. Kick your trip off at the awe-inspiring Sultan Ahmet Camii (Blue Mosque), which is visible from many points of the city. Stroll the Galata Bridge and stop by the Miniaturk Park to see its tiny artifacts. The Grand Bazaar has thousands of shops to browse, while the Egyptian Bazaar is a fragrant trove of spices and fruits.

This is one of those authentic stores in the Grand Bazaar where you can actually buy some high quality towels, without pressure, and for a fair price. I was recommended to visit here by several disinterested locals. The robes are awesome also!

1200 Derece took its name from the glass working temperature which is 1200 °C. The studio was established in Balat in 2015. We produce glassworks, participate in community activities and give workshops. Our mission is to revitalize the image of craftsmen, through meticulous demonstrations and nuanced design innovations. With our unique creative concept, you can enjoy your refreshments while immersed in the studio atmosphere. Both children and adults will enjoy the artistic experience.
The glass workshop is super fun and a great activity to add to your Istanbul visit. Take part in a workshop, have your coffee and buy souvenirs in one place and then explore the streets of the Balat district. A perfect way to spend day or a half day, totally recommend!
