This is a bright spot in Fairmont, WV. The park has a splash for the kiddos, picnic tables, and a variety of events are held there. Definitely a place to take family to relax and watch a concert or to enjoy a summer picnic.

Prickett’s Fort State Park, located five miles north of Fairmont in Marion County, features a reconstruction of the original Prickett's Fort, which served as a place of refuge during colonial times. This historical park commemorates late 18th-century life on the Virginia frontier. This day-use park is open mid-April through the end of October. After Labor Day, several attractions are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Visitors may enter the park free of charge, but some attractions, such as the fort, charge admission. Prickett’s Fort State Park Foundation manages programming aspects, tours, heritage workshops, and facility experiences. After Labor Day, the fort and visitor center are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The last Sunday in October is the end of season for the fort, except for any special events planned. The visitor center is open Monday – Friday. This park does not offer overnight accommodations within the park.
Great visit with this little state park. West Virginia amazes me with its quality of parks. Good little museum, with guided tour. Nicely managed with gift shop.

Our 220-acre farm, along the banks of the Tygart River, is filled with the ageless quality of farm life and will take you back to a simpler time. Enjoy wine and whiskey tastings, tours, farm-to-table food, live music, unique gifts, and special events. Our pavilions are open May through October for weddings, reunions, graduation, picnics, festivals and more. Our meeting and event rooms are open year-round. Call or email for more information.

Interesting history museum of the area with staff who care about the city and its past. The tour of the old jail is especially interesting.
