We took the option of the pre-show meal here in March 2020. The 3-course menu was different and very good, served by friendly staff. Our table looked over the University Campus via a floor to ceiling glass window. When we'd finished the meal (and excellent wine) we made our way through to the auditorium. The Northcott is different to other theatres in that the front row of seats are level with the stage and there's no orchestra pit. The rake's great with no restricted views whatsoever. We enjoyed the show (The Magic of Mowtown) immensely and would recommend the Northcott highly. A great place which is well-run, welcoming and despite what some have said about it, comfortable. Leg-room really isn't a problem. I'm 6'4" so know all about legroom... We walked from our hotel by Central Station (about 20 mins), but there's parking and a bus service. Highly recommended.

Bang in the heart of the city, Exeter Phoenix is the South West's foremost multi-artform venue. With hundreds of events programmed each year, spanning music, art, film, theatre and comedy as well as a whole host of learning activities, we are housed in a vibrant venue proud of its diversity and revelling in its eclectic buzz. In our building you'll find several art galleries, a large auditorium for gigs and film, a digital hub complete with editing suites, artist studios, a radio station, sound recording studios run by Sound Gallery CIC and a print workshop all centred around a friendly cafe bar serving delicious locally sourced food and drink. In our programme you'll find award-winning work by internationally renowned artists alongside new work by local creatives. We like to develop new talent - giving the artists we work with the tools to experiment, take risks and realise their best ideas - and we love it when our audience can say they saw great work here first. Whether you want to learn a new skill, spark new ideas or simply wish to be entertained, we hope you can join us at Exeter Phoenix soon.
Always love popping in here to see whats on in the gallery as the shows are always so intriguing and engaging, not sure what Exeter would do without such a high calibre arts programme. So pleased to see the newly and beautifully designed art galleries - went to see the Tania Kovats show which was as stunning as the new spaces. Well done to whoever designed this, such an accomplished transformation and long overdue - just wish the remaining facilities were as on point , especially the toilets which are continually disgusting.
