Lahemaa National Park, just east of Tallinn, is a place with breathtaking landscapes and unspoilt nature. You can find beautiful peninsulas and bays, forests and beaches, waterfalls and bogs seasoned with rich cultural history. This day trip is perfect for spending a day out of Tallinn. The first stop on the way is Jägala waterfall, after which the tour will visit Sagadi Manor, where you can learn about the legacy of German land-owners living in the Estonian countryside for centuries. You will then visit Altja village which is unique as it represents the architecture of our fishing villages as they were before the estblishment of coastal border zone during the Soviet times. You have time for a walk by the seaside and Altja tavern is open for tasting traditional Estonian farm food. Last thing on the tour is picturesque walk in Viru bog. You will go on the boardwalk leading to observation tower where you can admire how the unique vegetation is contrasting the clear bog pools.

Andres was a wonderful guide and knew a lot about Estonian nature, history and culture to share with us. We saw some beautiful nature sights (the Jägala waterfall was fantastic!) and ate a delicious lunch at a traditional Estonian tavern. You should definitely book this tour to see a variety of fun sights outside of Tallinn!!

This excursion was worth the time and money! This part of the Baltics has seen so much turmoil in government takeovers. Yet they are proud people who love their country. Beuatiful and historic.

I was in Helsinki, alone, for four days, in October 2018. I took this tour and I loved it. So, when I was in Helsinki with my wife, for a week in September 2019, we did this together. When I did this tour in 2018, the stop was at the Rock Church. When I did this with my wife in 2019, the stop was at the Sibelius Monument. I am really glad, because it is impossible to see the Rock Church properly in just about ten minutes, and I had to make a second trip later to see it properly!! Whereas the Sibelius monument can easily be seen in ten minutes, as the bus stops right next to it. So, one bit of advice, IF POSSIBLE, take the tour on a day when the stop is at the Sibelius monument. Phone in advance, or ask your hotel front desk to do it for you. This tour is free with the Helsinki Card. Be a few minutes early, and sit on top. You don't get much of a view from the lower deck! The audio guide is good. The starting point at Esplanade Park is a bit difficult to find, ask someone! Everyone in Helsinki speaks English, and everyone is so helpful and polite. So, don't be shy to ask!
