An old fortress on a hill that is reached by steep stairs from the old town. It is a great place for excursions for all ages. A very beautifully preserved historical monument.

Craftspeople in stands, not corporate stands selling goods from China. Fun and Friendly, not large, but set among old village buildings (Rathaus) with a fortified wall overlooking the town from a hill above (lighted dramatically at night)

Something different in wine country. Cost wasn’t a lot for about an hour and a half tour and tasting. We did the tour in English. Call in advance to set up your tour.

We attended the Christmas markets in Esslingen this year, and were impressed by the charm of the old town. The Rathaus is the highlight of the area, and the Middle Ages Christmas market branches out from the main square.
