Lets spread the word around.Indian cooking is not all about the fat or artificial colour. Its about cooking a healthy fresh meal which need not take hours! It is about cooking a healthy meal.

I attended the Easter Breads baking course today at Mersea Island Cookery School with my sister and absolutely loved it. We were given a voucher as a Christmas present, which was a great gift - I'd like another one next Christmas please..!! We baked hot cross buns, an orange wreath and brioche buns. The class was small which meant we were each given enough guidance and learnt a lot. We had a lovely lunch at the school when we finished baking, made by Ilia. Ilia was a fantastic teacher, and I am in awe of how much baking knowledge she has! She made us feel very welcome, and coped very well doing double the amount of work as usual without her helper there! I would love to come again for another class.

Independent baking, cake decorating and pastry school, established in 2013. Offering a wide selection of group courses as well as private tuition, unique hen parties and corporate team building activities from our custom built baking studio close to the heart of Southend on Sea. We are open for pre-booked classes and by appointment only.
I have had a voucher for nearly a year which my wife purchased last Christmas. I have only just got around to organizing the class. I decided to look at something my daughter could also attend so this mince pie making was perfect. The school has recently moved and the new facilities are perfect. Very clean and well designed. Me and my 9 year old sat together making mince pies from scratch. Firstly making pastry then the filling. We had a great time together and the lesson was very well scripted. All very easy to follow for both of us. Always good to get some sampling at the end and Sarah made us some custard from scratch to have with the mince pie treat. Very good would highly recommend. Great morning. Thanks

Working brewery producing an exciting range of traditional and modern craft ales. Cosy Tap Room selling own beers, wines, soft drinks and gin! Tap Room only open occasionally at present,
John Newton Leigh on Sea I have just been to the Leigh Brewery beer festival (Saturday) and I was so pleased to be with so many like minded people who enjoy their beers no matter what the weather has to throw at them, rain, cold, sleat and sunny, all in an hour. The beers were great and not too many of them that you couldn't try them all in a couple of sessions. The music was very eclectic. I have used the tap room almost since it was opened and right from the start it had really welcoming feel about it, something that can't be manufactured and everyone is easy to chat to. CONGRATULATIONS!
