Visit friends for a round of golf. Local course to them so didn't know about it beforehand. £30 for our round teeing off before 8 on a Saturday. Once the fog cleared and the sun came out the place looked great. The course was well looked after. Having not played for a while I found it fairly forgiving, suitable for players of all ability. After the round we stopped in the clubhouse for some food. A beer and burger for around £15. Servered quickly and very tasty.

What a nice church in a very nice town with what appears a very active community. It was a pleasure to visit this church as from what I can tell this is were many of my ancestors worshiped. Being from the Borden family line. My ancestors left for America in 1638 on my Granny's side. It was nice to see the childrens area in the back of the church. The stain glass was beautiful. Walking through the cemetery I don't know thought it was some place special. Most of the stones have been there many a year and the names and dates have long removed away by the elements. I'm sure if I had come during the week there might of been some one available to show me the locations of family members buried on the site. Thank you to the good people of Headcorn for taking such good care of this place in time. I wished I was able to of showed up in time for Sunday service. Thank you Gene

This flight was the second purchased from Aero Legends, our previous jaunt was the short flight in their DH Devon to Leeds Castle and back to Headcorn. This time it was a rare experience, again in the DH Devon, but escorted (if that’s the correct word) by a Sprifire and Hurricane, to the Kent coast at Caple-le-ferne and Dover. The flight was smooth passing Ashford and following the rail lines to the coast, a navigation aid used 70 years previously. Circling the Battle of Britain Memorial at Caple on both the Port and Starboard sides so the passengers could acquire closeup photos of the BoB winners. For the return to Headcorn we were formated on by a NA Harvard acting a as a photoship for aire to air shorts of the Devon Spitfire ans Hurricane. For this reason our flight was a wee bit longer..... The pilots of the planes strive to provide a stable platform for filming and the ‘attacking’ aircraft swoop and sweep by holding formation of a few feet away from eager camera lenses. Since our visit in 2017 there have been radical improvements to the facilities at Headcorn. Parking was free, if you pick the right weekend there are often other events at the airfield. Well recommended for a special birthday or treat.

What a gem of a museum. There so much to see. So many parts of different aircraft; British, American and German. And with the story behind those items. In fact, there's so much information that it's hard to take it all in on just one visit (we will certainly be back). It's not too costly, so repeat visits are certainly affordable. It costs £2 to park on the airfield (but that's for all day) and, as there are (in these troubled times restricted) catering outlets (the Aerodrome Cafe and Wings Bar), you can easily spend the day here. You may also be there when aircraft are operating, which is a bonus (especially if one of these is a Spitfire).

Whether as a gift for a friend or relative or as an introduction to flying, the first step to take is to arrange a trial flying lesson. This involves a thorough briefing by the instructor followed by the flight, during which you will be given as much time at the controls as possible. The instructor will carry out the take-off and will then demonstrate the effects of controls on the aircraft, involving turning as well as climbing and descending. Following this you will be given control of the aircraft and will be flying until the end of the allocated time when the instructor will land the plane. If you decide to proceed with your private pilots licence this time will count towards your required flying hours.

Lying to the east of our site at Paddock Wood is the second of our most northerly launch sites, Headcorn. With its exquisite scenery perfect for a balloon trip including views of Tunbridge Wells and 'Batemans', the former home of the poet and author, Rudyard Kipling and Bodiam Castle the county itself offers the balloonist a first-class area to explore.
