You really have to see this place! I was very fortunate to not only see this amazing collection before it officially opened, but to get a private tour by His Royal Highness, Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan. His Highness is one of the biggest car collectors in the world and has become famous as "The Rainbow Sheikh" but these days his heart belongs to Off Road Vehicles, and so he decided to create the world's first museum devoted to the all-wheel drive (so to speak). Yes, I am a car enthusiast but not really an "off-roader" ... but this massive collection, housed in several buildings with hundreds of cars, SUVs and trucks is unbelievable and will fascinate everyone. It shows the history of the all-wheel drive, displays all important brands with models from the early beginnings to modern times, and even has some of His Highness' most amazing one-off build on display, including Dhabiyan, considered to be the largest SUV in the world by Guinness World Records. The Off Road History Museum is a short 45min drive from Dubai and offers plenty of picture opportunities with some of the most amazing vehicles in the world. Highly recommended!

Learn about the flora and fauna of the arabian desert at this fascinating museum that houses farm animals for petting, geology, marine and flora halls and a diorama showing desert habitats.
For AED 15 per ticket you get to enter five halls detailing life on earth since the beginning of time. There are displays of fossils, meteorites, taxidermic animals and desert ecosystems, along with a Islamic botanical garden. Wild Life center for the animals/birds that lived in the region which is so so beautifully maintained. Great fun for family and kids especially the Children’s Farm where your little ones will enjoy feeding some pets like goats, sheep, horses, donkeys and hens.

This intriguing archaeological museum takes visitors through the Stone, Bronze and Iron ages and provides educational games for children, videos in Arabic and English and other creative touches designed to make learning fun.
I decided to go to Museum of Archeology in Sharjah for their temporary exhibition of “The Echo of Caravans: Pre-Islamic Civilization Sites in Saudi Arabia” (until Jan 31, 2019). I enjoyed this exhibition a lot and since getting a tourist visa to KSA is very difficult, I did not want to miss it. Plus KSA is a big country, it requires commitment to visit these major sites on one trip. The museum also houses many precious and significant artifacts from the archeological sites in UAE. There are many things that I love, but specifically, the gold horse bridles. The reconstruction of the tomb of Al Buhais 18 is another favorite - especially how the jewelry of one of the women buried there was excavated as it was found settling on her crushed skull. Very interesting. For archeology enthusiasts, this museum is a must-see.

The only interactive museum in the United Arab Emirates, this exciting science museum lets visitors test their flexibility, create cartoons, study the stars and much more.
Another Sharjah gem and affordable day out. Some displays are blocked off due to Covid rules however what is open is adequate for small children. Nice interactive and interesting displays. Perfect for smaller children ages 5-10 however teenagers might be bored easily. I have rated this a 5/5 as it’s affordable, clean and interesting and it will be much better as well once all the displays are open.

The museum has several exhibitions. Most interesting one is the museum collection with works from many arab countries since second half of the 20th century which is mainly a testimony of the evolution of visual art in the region and also shows how the western styles influenced the regional artists. A small corner of the museum contains "The light of the Orient" which is a collection of Orientalist art of the 19th century owned by HH the Ruler of Sharjah and mainly shows an European view on regional subjects. The exhibitions are very well documented so take your time.
