Emilia-Romagna (pronounced [eˈmiːlja roˈmaɲɲa]; Emilian and Romagnol: Emélia-Rumâgna) is an administrative Region of Northeast Italy comprising the historical regions of Emilia and Romagna. Its capital is Bologna. It has an area of 22,446 km (8,666 sq mi), and about 4.4 million inhabitants.

The Monte Romano Astronomical Observatory is located in the territory of Brisighella at an altitude of 762 meters. A newton-cassegrain telescope, with mirror size 500 mm is installed in the dome. From May to the begininning of October there are some free opening days (free contribute). It is also possible to book prive tours and observations for groups and singles, writing an email to the structure.
