Eindhoven is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, but you’d never know it from the high-tech industry and cutting-edge design it’s currently known for. If you have kids obsessed by all things wheeled, they will love the trucks at the DAF Museum.

We had a few hours to kill in Eindhoven and with a train to catch we didnt want to leave the city centre. At 9am there was a lot not open yet (a Friday, a lot of stuff was opening at 10am) and saw the spires of the Cathedral when having a mint tea (with honey, try it!) so thought we would visit. This place is beautiful with beautiful paintings and stained glass. It also includes history which is really interesting. On display are excavated items with descriptions in English and Dutch, which are fascinating, especially the reconstructed child! Also old architectural drawings of the building. Worth a visit.

This is the place for all your transportation needs in Eindhoven centre. It’s a nice station, large, with plenty of facilities and amenities. The bus station is to the rear of Centraal Station and does regular services which take up to twenty minutes to Eindhoven Airport. We went to ‘s-Hertogenbosch and used the railway station to get a nineteen-minute ride. It was an inexpensive fare and an on-time service.

The Evoluon consists of thee parts: the iconic Dome with its rings, the auditorium and conference center with up to 20 meeting rooms and the restaurant. Besides that, you will have access to the terrace at the pond in our own private garden.

A great Dutch city with some good places to explore.. S-Strijp, Evolon, DAF & Philips museum, PSV, shopping and some nice bars, restaurants and for me some of the best graffiti in the Netherlands. Take a bike to get a better look around..
