Eilat (/eɪˈlɑːt/; Hebrew: אֵילַת [eˈlat]; Arabic: إيلات, translit. 'aylaat or Arabic: أيلة, translit. 'aylat, also Arabic: أم الرشراش, translit. 'Um 'al-Rashrash) is Israel's southernmost city, a busy port and popular resort at the northern tip of the Red Sea, on the Gulf of Aqaba. Lovely, expansive and well-maintained beach. Great place to book a scuba dive trip. Nice place to get a coffee, drink, or meal, but there is a fee to use the lounge chairs.

this was my first experience of hiking in israel, and it left a positive impression on me. when you leave your vehicle and enter the trail there is a stand where maps of the park's territory and hiking trails are available. in the beginning of the green easy trail there is a rather shallow landscape (pics 1, 2), which gives you a little taste of the desert and its ancient rocks. then you eventually enter the red canyon itself (pics 3, 4, 5,) where special facilities for rock climbing can be found (pic 6). after finishing the green trail and leaving the narrow red canyon, you can return to the parking through a special returning path or continue your journey on a black more hard trail (pic 7). it is surrounded by mountains and contains some harsh climbs. at some point of the black trail you can continue your journey or take the red trail, that will take you back to the parking through the desert hills (pic 8). the park's trails are provided with special color markings on the rocks that show you which of the trails you're currently walking, so you can hardly get lost there. the only bad thing about this park is that on the maps and in the signs that are set on the trails there is no information about the length of the paths and approximate time it takes to hike them. during our visit, it took us about 2 hours to complete the journey that i described previously - the green trail, half of the black trail and the red trail. in overall, this was an amazing experience - but don't forget to bring with you a big bottle of water or two and a first aid kit, since the nature reserve is far from the civilization, and there are of course no shops and sometimes even no cellular.

The tour will take you to the Art Center,a fantasy in the desert. It is colorful complex, housing art workshops. We'll visit a breathtaking panorama from the top balcony, an exhibition showing the construction process by the people of the community, and the gallery & gift shop, selling hand made art works made by the local artists. From here we'll stroll to the winery, for organic wine tasting.

Probably best snorkeling site in eilat. Good amount of fish life and reasonable coral. There are bridges out to the reefs and you can swim between them. Beach is just before taba border and accessible by bus.

Very nice beach with beautiful reef for snorkelling and diving. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and the service is great. A bit further away from the tourist beaches but worth the hike.

Eilat is one of the most important spots for migratory birds in the world. The only overland bridge between Europe, Asia and Africa is also a bottle-neck that serves hundreds of millions of migratory birds. Moreover, these birds in Eilat, are preparing themselves for the most challenging task of crossing the foodless and hostile Saharan desert. We also offering guided tours by request.
This place is definitely worth visiting if you have some free time in Eilat. Easy to reach, completely free and nicely made. Unfortunately we did not see many birds in January but there were still some in the water searching for food so we could make some great pics. I guess the peak season is in March.
