Egmond has a nice wide beach to walk. However, the dunes are not very high here. You can see the roofs of homes and hotels over the dunes. Quite different in that respect from Zandvoort or Ijmuiden. The place has a typical touristy feel to it, but it is enjoyable. Several nice beach cafe's on the beach, which were open although it was the middle of the winter. All in all, an enjoyable beach to visit.

This lighthouse is a monument for J.C.J. Van Speijk, but was already a lighthouse when the monumental base was added. During summer and on special occasions, it is possible to visit the lighthouse and enjoy the wonderful views of Egmond aan Zee.

I would like to recommend this place as a place full of knowledge and interesting informations about the WWII. Facts about Egmond and area, about people who have lived there at that time.
Staff is very friendly and well informed. There's a room where you can see a lot of stuff from WWII (almost smell it) and watch black and white movie.
Specific, original place in one of the bunker in the north coast of Nederland.
Me and my friends,we are the big fans of bunkers so we really appreciate the big job of the people who decided to take care of this bunker.
You all did a really great job!
Keep going!Succes goede mensen

The monumental building can't be missed when entering the village. Still, most people pass it, without realizing you can enter the building. And for free that is. It houses an amazing collection of boat models and even has its own small museum inside. A hidden gem, not to be missed!
