If you've never been to Edenton, I highly suggest stopping by the Penelope Barker House and getting tickets for the Trolley tour. There is so much history in this little town and the guides in both the Welcome Center and Trolley were so sweet and knowledgable!

The 1767 Chowan County Courthouse is often referred to as one of the finest examples of Georgian Colonial architecture. A North Carolina State Historic Site, you can visit the 1767 Chowan County Courthouse from Tue-Sat and take a guided tour to learn about it's history. The Courthouse is run by Historic Edenton State Historic Site, located at 108 N. Broad Street.

If you are with children there is a fantastic playground and play area within the area. Otherwise there are benches and kayaks that are available to take in the many sites within the park.
