Reputed to be the thirteenth oldest golf course in the world (founded 1832), this course stretches 6,420 yards.
It's golf as it should be played and organised. A course designed to use all the local features, with fine greens and challenging holes, combined with a fabulous history. We were warmly welcomed and looked after - "you are a member of the course for the day". The clubhouse was warm and welcoming too. But the key thing for me is that the course is part of the town's recreational facilities and is used by all as a way to the beach. None of that private club pretentiousness that haunts English golf.

The Glen is probably overlooked in the area due to the sheer class of the courses surrounding it. Don’t be fooled this a wonderful golf course and different to the other courses. More of a headland course than links but the views are second to none. We played on a blustery day which is pretty standard and had a good experience. Greens were true although due to the high wind they probably can’t get them too high on the stimp metre. But putting down wind can seem very tricky at times. It’s is a good walk and not for the unfit or golfers looking for an easy stroll. Clubhouse has wonderful views over the Forth and Bass Rock. Friendly staff and nice Peroni.
