connecting bridge between the island of Madura and the island of Java, the location is to the north of the city of Surabaya, you can reach it via Jalan Kenjeran (East Surabaya), I still remember for the first time I wanted to try Sinjay Duck when it was not yet in the city of Surabaya, I along with our friends drove to Madura Island, to the Bangkalan area to queue up the delicious super duck food, at that time the bridge had not been officially opened, there was no street lighting, access to the island of Madura was still free, I remember those beautiful moments with friends.

Surabaya historical landmark is a bridge named Red, Jembatan Merah. Just an ordinary old bridge with red painted railings for tourists who visited there, but to me, a native of Surabaya, once was my life. Spanning north south across the main waterway of turbid Golden River, mark the Central Business District since the colonial days in the 18th century, until the present. At the south end of the bridge is the Chinatown where I grew up, and cross the bridge in the north was our family business which raised me up. A painting by laureate painter Joni Ramlan of Mojosari, East Java, has dedicated the memory of my early life on impressionistic oil on canvas. Anthony Hocktong Tjio, Monterey Park, CA.
