Halesworth Library

More than "just" a library we provide a community resource, catering for all ages. As well as welcoming locals we are delighted to have visitors coming in and using our facilities and joining in our activities. If we're busy you may have to wait a short while for assistance but you can be assured that we are always polite and friendly, treating everyone with respect! We have tourist information including bus and train timetables. We also have lots of resources on local activities and services. We have WiFi and computers and i pads. We have a great selection of books too - including old ones for sale very cheaply! We have a very up to date Junior Library and are very proud of its wide stock! If we don't have what you need, or can't answer a question, we'll do our best to help. We have a quiet garden where you can sit and enjoy the peace and the flowers. We have a toilet for customer use and can provide a cup of tea or coffee - or bring your own from a nearby cafe. Everybody welcome.

Much more than a place to borrow books. Charlotte and her helpers make this a community hub, running activities for all age groups. The Friends of Southwold Library organise activities to raise needed extra revenue. It will be even better when they finally move into their new home in the old Hospital.

Fantastic library ran by wonderful people, Right at the heart of the Downham community. As a library member for as long as I can remember, Downham is as good as any i have used. I've used it for IT, printing, book and DVD loans, a place to while away an hour or two on my own or to take my children to get their own books or to take part in one of their regular activities. If you just spend an hour you will see a slice of community life in the different generations that all take something from a visit, whether its information or just to spend an hour talking to a friend or joining in the groups and clubs. Nowhere else in a community offers this opportunity and it's fantastic.
