Nicol's Blacksmith is one of the only remaining working village blacksmiths in New Zealand. Restored back to its former glory and is open for viewing daily by donation and with a working blacksmith most weekends 10am-2pm between November and May. (Labour Weekend until Queens Birthday weekend). Blacksmithing courses available with booking.

Great formations very much like Elephants and admired by many tourists to our country. Lovely township with picnic tables to sit and enjoy the countryside. Friendly horse in paddock to pat and the Pub patrons very hospitabile

To look at fossils that are 25 million years old is thrilling. I spent over an hour there. The friendly person on duty used my camera to photograph me standing beside a large fossil. This venue is well worth the visit.
