We had a fantastic day out at Dunster Castle, the volunteers and staff were lovely to chat to, the gentleman who did our attic tour was really knowledgable and interesting, that tour is well worth doing. We wished we had been able to come when the mill was in operation but the volunteers there were very good at making it come alive and explaining how it all worked. The gardens are also very beautiful and you could spend a long time just wandering. We also had a meal in the cafe by the mill and a cup of tea by the castle, all very good.

The collection is always growing so there are likely to be many new additions and faces if you have visited before! Situated in the beautiful medieval village of Dunster, we are located on the gateway to Exmoor National Park. Come and visit us today! PLEASE NOTE: The Project is still under way and as such not all aspects of it are complete. We thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
I spent a very enjoyable hour visiting this little museum which seemed to be staffed by volunteers. I particularly enjoyed visiting the Doll Museum which had hundreds of very interesting dolls beautifully displayed with information about them. Many exhibits seemed to be donations with information about the donor too. It is free to visit and much work must go into the upkeep and displays in the museum so all credit to the people involved, I for one much appreciated their hard work.

Fantastic stretch of coastline. A mixture of sand and pebbles. Kiosk selling snacks, ice cream, hot drinks etc. Clean public toilets, miniature golf and ample car parking. Great for picnics, children and dog walking (dog friendly beach all year round). Worth a visit

This fully operational water mill is a little gem, wonderfully restored to its former glory, A tour gives you an insight to the ingenuity of the craftsmen of a bygone age. I bake all my own bread so use the mill as my flour provider, they sell several types of flour all available in the shop. I buy in bulk, so order a sack in advance but they will produce to a very short timescale, if you make your own bread it is well worth a visit just for that.

Thank you for you taking the time to help us plan our Coleridge Way walk. Your advice on which maps to use and the best way of breaking the 51 mile walk into stages was excellent. The suggestions you made of locations to visit just off the route, such as view points and points of historical interest really helped to enhance the walk. To date we have completed three stages and look forward to completing the route over the next few weeks. We will be calling in at the National Park Centre in Lynmouth to "sign the book" and claim our certificates. Thank you!

Stolled down here from the village after our evening meal just to take in the history of this old bridge and try to imagine what it was like all those years ago when the pack horse used to traverse the river carrying its wares to wherever! A lovely spot for quiet contemplation.

Love this village to bits with its sloping high street, wooden Yarn Market in the middle of the road, great hotels, galleries and eateries. Love how Dunster Castle looks down on all the views in the village and there is not a single commercial name on the High Street. Like an England of a time long gone forever! Super destination for history buffs and those looking to escape our commercial world.

This is a great Dovecote complete with the working interior ladders and platforms. Gives a really good idea of how they worked.
