Excellent small gallery focusing on local artists in a lovely location between MacLellan's Castle and the harbour, putting on shows in a variety of media throughout the year. The friendly staff - and a visitor who had worked for him - were generous with their time and insights when I called in to ask about an artist featured in an earler show.

A new gallery showcasing the best of the regions historic art and hosting national touring exhibitions. The architect designed conversion of Kirkcudbright Town Hall opened in June 2018 to great acclaim. Visit and enjoy a year-round exhibition on the fabulous Kirkcudbright Artists' including works by Hornel, King, Peploe and Taylor among many others. Or revel in the changing programme of national touring exhibitions. Drop into the cafe offering the best of local produce, with a view over the town and the countryside beyond. A warm welcome awaits.
A fabulous gallery showcasing the history of local artists at Kirkcudbright with a really interesting temporary exhibition called “Utopia” upstairs. Beautifully renovated building with great cafe. A must if you’re visiting Kirkcudbright.

A lovely , welcoming shop and cafe , situated near the Tolbooth in the centre of Sanquhar . I don't think we have stayed in a town which has such friendly locals , who have made us feel so much at home . That they did so in these difficult times is to their credit . We had a lovely afternoon tea for two , sat outside in the sun with our dog . The staff went out of their way to cater for our dietary needs ( vegetarian and vegan ) , were attentive and helpful without being obtrusive . Well done to all of them .
