You've probably heard that Guinness tastes better in Dublin (fresh from the factory), but what you may not know is that Dublin is a perfect destination for the whole family. No, we're not suggesting you let the kiddies drink a pint. Instead, take them to the Dublin Zoo, to feed the ducks in Stephen's Green or on a picnic in Phoenix Park. Scholars enjoy walking in the literary footsteps of such writers as Yeats and Joyce, while discerning shoppers have their pick of designer boutiques.

The 1916 Rebellion is a crucial moment in Irish History and the event is still very much a part of Dublin today. Step into the past with a local and visit the spots where rebels fought for the freedom of their country. Plus hear about the events that brought Ireland to the point of rebellion. Start your local experience hearing about the Great Irish Famine. From the memorial to the ships that transported Irish people to America, this sad event is still remembered all over the city. Your local host will explain how the famine drove the Irish people to rebel on Easter Monday 1916. Swing by Arbour Hill Cemetary and Prison which is the burial site of 14 of the leaders of the rebellion. Then finish your historical experience in front of Kilmainham Gaol. Now a museum, this impressive building is a former prison and the spot where the rebels were imprisoned and executed.
Inclusions: Private tour, Local guide
Exclusions: Hotel pick-up and drop off, Kilmainham Gaol entrance ticket
I loved these tours. Took them back in April of 2019. The first tour I took was a walking tour of Dublin. Ciaran was the tour guide. He was a total history buff and made the tour super interesting. The next day I went on a tour to a seaside village called Howth. I had a tour guide named Stephen. He was very cool and even preformed Shakespeare in the woods for his group. I hope to take these tours again one day.

As a party of four we have just had an amazing 3 night 4 day experience on the Emerald Pullman First Class Train Trip. The journey took in many of Ireland's most scenic & spectacular locations including Waterford Crystal, Killarney, The Ring of Kerry , Cliffs of Moher & Galway Bay to name just a few .. We experienced first class service from the time we left Connolly Station. The whole experience was completely relaxing and hassle free as everything was organised for us every step of the way, from the lovely hotels we stayed in to the wonderful tours of our beautiful country. Would highly recommend Railtours Ireland if planning a staycation and a huge thanks & appreciation to Jim Deegan and his very professional team for a great holiday in Ireland.

Jay and his team were excellent during our recent trip to Ireland. We were a group of 16 with 4 children and used their services for our trips to and from the airport and also to and from Trinity hotel for our daughters wedding. They were on time, helpful and a lot of fun. Despite the city closing down they remained available to us for any questions and concerns. Highly recommend their services.

I took a day tour with Darby O'Gill some time ago and today i found the card in my bag. Despite the delay I thought is still worth it to write a review. It was one of the best bus day tours i have ever had. We started in Dublin and drove in the countryside. The nature was beautiful and totally worth seeing. The bus amenities were great. We had enough stops and still enough time to enjoy everything. Our driver, Eary (I hope this is right) was incredible. He entertained us during the entire day in a unique way. We both laughed a lot and learned things about our trip and Ireland in general. I really hope he still does the tours so that one day i can return and enjoy the trip once again. Prices were also good comparing with Dublin prices!

Our guide was Karina and we couldn't have asked for a better one! She was brilliant and went way over the alloted 90 minutes. Very knowledgeable and a good laugh too, which we were in need of, it made for a very entertaining morning for myself and my son. Loved the little anecdotes from Bruce Springsteen to The beatles, as well as all the history, both modern and old. The recommendation of a good Whiskey shop was spot on and I'll look out for her in The Commitments film next time I watch it!
