Conquering New York in one visit is impossible. Instead, hit the must-sees – the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art – and then explore off the beaten path with visits to The Cloisters or one of the city’s libraries. Indulge in the bohemian shops of the West Village or the fine dining of the Upper West Side. The bustling marketplace inside of Grand Central Station gives you a literal taste of the best the city has to offer.

Non-profit cinema and film buff's hangout.
The films shown here are curated with passion, intellect, respect for the filmmaker and his/her audience. Here in NYC we have a number of art house cinemas, but none invoke the timelessness of the genre quite like the Film Forum. Sign in to their website to get a true sense of what I'm saying. Additional perks: excellent coffee, organic chocolates and ice cream sandwiches, etc.

We passed the cinema on the way to our hotel and noticed they had it’s a wonderful life on the display board. With this noted this was added too our list of definite must do. We arrived at the cinema for a 2PM showing sadly a week before Donna Reed’s daughter was due to be there but never mind we were pleased with the cinema which had welcoming staff and the right feel to the venue. The seats were more than comfortable and the the size of the theatre was for us the right size with a perfect view of the screen. We totally enjoyed the performances during would recommend this cinema to anyone visiting New York as they regularly show classic films.

The Angelika plays an impressive and diverse mix of independent films, and is the definitive cinema of choice for filmmakers and film lovers alike. Since its opening, the Angelika New York has become the most successful and recognized arthouse in the United States. The Angelika offers a dynamic and sophisticated atmosphere. The theater is a great place to meet your friends or hang out by yourself, and patrons who come early can enjoy a gourmet snack at the café or browse our InFocus newsletter.

IPIC presents our guests with a unique movie experience where they can relax and escape with great comfort, hospitality and amenities.
We went to see the mid day Showing for Stars Wars on Christmas Day at the location by the SouthStreet Seaport. Easily accessed from the train. I bought my tickets in advance on the IPiCs site and downloaded my tickets to my apple wallet. The theater at IPIC is super high end. Friendly and helpful staff.. the theater is clean and although children friendly geared towards an adult experience. The in movie dining experience was amazing. Its seat pod has a back pillow and blacket throw. I had the red velevt bread pudding and mimosa. Popcorn is included (free) with your experience. The screen its self was a little small but overall a great “watch” experience.
