The heart of Osaka nightlife, this area is filled with theaters, restaurants, cafes, bars, arcades and nightclubs.
Dotonbori is the district to enjoy the real osakan delicacy , Shop and blend with locals to learn more about the culture .. the area filled with amazing restaurants, cafe’s & street food vendors ( vegetarian friendly, halal certified restaurants & Muslim friendly ones) so everyone can enjoy the local food without worries. Shopping in Dotonbori will drive you crazy .. you can enjoy shopping from well known international brands to 100 yen stores. It’s such fun and interesting place to visit .. I highly recommend it.

My family and I enjoyed the musical so much, we kept singing the theme song "gotta gotta!" all the way back to our home country! Kudos to the five actors and also to their kind manager who went out of his way to walk us to the don quijote shop for our cruise. Your hospitality is greatly appreciated, sir! We'll come back with more friends!

A museum of "theater city" Dotonbori. Which replicates a 200-year-old theater. It have small revolbing stage. Revolbing stage was born at Dotonbori theater district in 1758. You can ride revolbing stage, and take movies or photos as if you are the "Kabuki actor". (Kimono in photo panels is real Kabuki actor costume! If you shoot in two dimensions, it looks like you're really wearing it.) Main exhibit is a 20minute time travel with audio plays in English, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. You can get the "theater city" Dotonbori Map, which is only available to visitors. The map is an excerpted representation of only the theater city's related facilities, and also shows the old times. It comes with coupons that offer discounts from certain facilities nearby.
We enjoyed our experience here. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We watched a 13 minute video presentation about the history of theatre in Dotonbori while enjoying complimentary tea and sweets. We then watched a performance including magic and tricks. It was interactive (audience involvement) and lots of fun. We then tried out the revolving stage and had plenty of photo opportunities. Our children (aged 9 and 7) enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended for families seeking a quiet rest from the shops and restaurants.

If there is one spot to get the best photos of Dotonbori , this is it! This was our 2nd time visiting Dotonbori/Shinsaibashi and the views from the Ebisu Bridge still amazed us. Strategically located in between Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi over the Dotonbori canal, it acts like a big courtyard between these attractions with the most noticeable billboards (such as the Glico man) and entry ways. Especially amazing at night when all the lights are lighted up from the billboards, the river walk, the shops etc. The sights and the sounds and the energy were just at another level unmatched elsewhere.

Highly recommended! Lot of eateries and shops. Majority of the restaurants serve good food. Can be crowded during dinner time where you have to queue for your turn. Nice night scenery to stroll along the riverside. We went there so many times during our visit to Osaka. Really worth the trip. And don't forget to try the famous takoyaki balls. They are everywhere!

Just a tourist photo spot that has not much meaning. But will still come to take photo. The Glico man background animation will change a little
