There are a fair selection of cheeses here, some kitschy Wisconsin merch and a nice selection of Chocolate Shoppe ice cream to boot. The prices were very reasonable - cheaper than what it costs at home!

Had a great Sunday morning hike at the state park. We hiked the Stephens falls, lost canyon, goldmine and meadow valley trails. Very cool how the park has forest, lake, prairie and open areas. People said the park gets busy but we had no difficulty finding parking near the spots we wanted to see. Would highly recommend.

This was a stop on a nice short trip we did consisting of this museum, Dodge State Park to see the waterfall, House on the Rock, Cave of the Mound, the Shoebox shoe store in Black Earth, and lunch in Madison at Hawks. Totally worth the admission to see the collection. There’s some really interesting specimens in there. Bring some money for their store as they have better prices than most for what I’ve seen offered but it all depends on what they have that day. The owner is super nice. Hours are variable so try to reach them by phone before heading there to make sure they’ll be open. Museum is fine for older kids, but little kids would likely not be interested unless they like rocks and minerals.

Highly recommend! We had a great little adventure with our two kids. The owner and her son were our guides and did an exceptional job of assessing confidence levels and helping the beginners. The paths are beautiful and the ride was very comfortable.
