I booked this tour for me and my husband on a whim just to give us something to do for the weekend...and it was an excellent decision! Our guide Cristina responded to us within an hour to inquire about our food preferences and to also ensure that we didn’t have any allergies which we found to be very helpful and thoughtful. Once we met up at the designated time, she was very informative about each place we went to and she showed us some different restaurants that we may not have ventured into had we visited Verona on our own. At each place, she asked us if we wanted photos and let us take our time to marvel at everything after explaining the history behind it. We even got to see the arena which was sooo beautiful in person. If you want a tour guide that is going to show you more than just the typical tourists routes, book with Cristina. She made our experience worthwhile.

These shores of Lake Garda have a name that is not known to all: "La Romantica". "La Romantica" is the coastal stretch of Lake Garda located between Sirmione and Desenzano del Garda and owes its name to the perfect views to share as a couple, but it is actually much appreciated by families as it is equipped with services and spaces greens. After skirting the Sirmione peninsula to admire the most interesting points including Villa Callas, the Acquaria thermal center, the Catullo caves, we will proceed towards Desenzano to skirt the coast "La Romantica" and enjoy a pleasant boat trip alongside the historical and cultural beauties of Sirmione to the naturalistic beauties of Lake Garda. We had the pleasure of meeting Paolo who walked us through the history of the castle and the wine-making process. We got to taste wine at the different stages. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the factors that affect each element of the wine and explained things in a very clear manner. The tasting was outstanding, showcasing the differences between the grapes grown just a few meters away from each other. We loved the experience and would highly recommend it as a couple’s activity or with friends.

My daughter had studied the Risorgimento for A level and really wanted to visit Solferino but it seemed impossible to get there without a car so when we found out you could get to San Martino by public transport, we decided to go there instead. We followed the instructions given by other Tripadvisors to get there from the end of the Number 1 bus. Just one clarification. When at the San Martino bus stop, you need to stand with your back to the bus stop, walk to the right and then turn left to get to the main road. It was a horrid walk across first the railway bridge and then the motorway bridge on a busy road without pavements, particularly on the way back when it was pouring with rain so not recommended for younger kids. Just before you get to the tower, there is a path on the right down to the charnel house which is worth a visit. The altar is surrounded by skulls of those who died, and the rest of their bones are stacked up in the crypt. The tower itself offers amazing views over the lake and back towards Solferino and it is incredible to think about how what is now fertile ground covered in vines was once the site of such a bloody battle. On the way up there are some interesting objects from WW1 (see lots of different ways of using helmets to make other things such as shovels and cooking pots) and then there is a museum behind the tower. Top tip, the toilets round the back of the museum were the cleanest I have seen in Italy.

This time we have chosen to discover Palermo in a walking tour. That was our first time in Palermo and our guide, knowing this detail, made a point in explaining and making us discover the main landmarks of this beautiful Sicilian city. After that he suggested a wonderful local restaurant where we had lunch and it was indeed very good food reasonably priced and the restaurant was full of local people, which is, when you don't know a city, the best token for good quality. After lunch our guide walked us back to our cruise. Thank you very much Tour Travel for this great experience
