I went to visit this Santuario the last day before our departure, though it was only 1km from the Casale where we slept. The church was nice, and the most interesting are the ceramic tiles, not only beautiful to see, but record every single historical fact of individual person or family - it would worth a whold day to read them.

I’ve been obsessed with Deruta’s ceramics for several years now and when we finally went to see the town, I was not disappointed. It’s a cute medieval borgo on the hill. The parking is conveniently close, right outside the walls. The historical center was nice and quiet as we came on a Saturday morning and still during the pandemic so it was a very relaxing stroll. There are plenty of stores with handmade objects in different styles, from the traditional to modern. The prices are a bit higher than you can find in the area though. We also visited the ceramics museum, the oldest in Italy, and the church of San Francesco.
