Can’t thank Guy and Les enough for making us feel so welcome we had the best time! The mixed bag shooting was excellent!! Stef was a great entertaining instructor and we all got the hang of the various activities under his watch! I think we’ve all come away with a love of cross bows and rifles! The accommodation was super cute and had everything we needed! The shower/toilet block had plenty of space even with 14 girls trying to get ready for a night out at the Lighthouse Restaurant up the road. The summerhouse kitchen had everything we needed, and the bbq hut (with its ready laid fire) was perfect for the end of the night. We had an absolute blast and I’m trying to think up more reasons to come back and stay again!

I attended this lovely little studio with my daughter as we wanted to give something different to family & friends as christmas gifts. We had a lovely warm welcome from Dawn & she showed us around her lovely little studio. To add the the lovely welcome we were given hot drinks & mince pies. The class was amazing & there was no hesitation from Dawn as to answering any of our questions or concerns about our pieces that we were making. She has a lovely calming persona & was very encouraging & very complimentary with the finished products that we had made. To buy hand made glass pieces in a shop would have cost a fortune but we made our own personalised decorations for a fraction of the price! Both my daughter & I were that impressed that we booked another session & made more beautiful pieces. I wasn't even aware that we had a studio like this on my own doorstep. Looking to book further classes for Easter ❤

We went to Jumping Clay for story time where they read a story and then created a mini make related to the story. It's a fabulous experience that's a bargain at £3. The story was fun (Guess how much I Love You) and I loved that the mini make was so well lead that my 2 year old could manage the steps herself with just a little guidance. Now she has a little brown hare magnet on our fridge that reminds her of our experience together. She starts talking about both the story and making the magnet when she sees it. She was so proud of herself. And being situated whare it is, we were able to go to the park for a picnic lunch afterwards. Days like those are what childhood should be made of.

What a wonderful afternoon! Myself, sister, mum and neice attended a workshop this afternoon making planters with personality. It was a treat from my sister to us all. Fabulous fun doing something different, especially after the year we have all had so far with covid 19 and lockdown. Really enjoyable and a great experience. Felt very safe with appropraliate measures in place so no need to worry. .All materials and tools were provided. Even a great cup of tea part way through. Great teacher to keep us all on the right track and to help if needed. Would highly recommend for an afternoon of fun for a family group or group of friends. Excellent value and can't wait to see the finished results once they are fired.

Coghlans Cookery School was established by the Coghlan family in 2001 and has quickly become one of the foremost culinary cookery schools for the private sector in the UK. Ideally located in Darley Dale, Matlock (and located close to beautiful Peak District National Park), our Culinary Cookery School is easily accessible from Derbyshire, Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.
Wow! What a most amazing day. This place is a little gem set in the very pretty grounds of Stancliffe Hall. I thought I was a decent cook until I got here! Our tutor and Chef (Masterchef!), Simon was excellent and organised our chaotic family so well. We made afternoon tea including macarons which I was sure would fail as they always do! They turned out absolutely perfect with the masterful guidance of our Chef, as did everything else! The 'school' itself is so well laid out and so clean with all mod cons! Hubs isn't very happy though, since returning home, I want a new kitchen with new appliances. Thank you, Coghlans and special thanks to our tutor Chef Simon for a most enjoyable experience. Can not wait to go again!

We first found this Gallery over 2 years ago when looking for picture framing service, and absolutely loved the paintings. In fact, we came away with 3 very large maps which Carole framed for us, and 2 paintings. We have been back several times since and have bought several more paintings either for our home or as gifts. The Gallery has changed and improved over time and Carole has also branched out into clothes and gifts. Although a compact space, it is definitely a place to browse and immerse yourself, looking for treats. However, it's the paintings of the local Peak District landscapes which we like best - the expansiveness and huge skies over moorlands and crags are so expressive and moving. Well worth a visit and a purchase - sizes and prices vary but all are extremely good value.
