DeLand is a city in the U.S. state of Florida. It is the county seat of Volusia County. The city sits approximately 34 miles (55 km) north of the central business district of Orlando, and approximately 23 miles (37 km) west of the central business district of Daytona Beach. Tours are conducted by licensed Coast Guard Captains who know the history of the area and the wildlife that abound. Two hour narrated tours depart from Hontoon Landing Resort & Marina. Tours are operated every day except Monday and Tuesday, and depart at 10AM and 1PM. The Tour is a nature lover's paradise. You will see alligators, anhinga osprey, Great Egrets, Ibis, Great Blue Heron, turtles, frequent sightings of manatee, and much more. On part of the trip, you will see the Old Florida in the same pristine condition it has been over the centuries. There will be pauses for photos and discussion of the wildlife encountered. Rates - $28 per person, Children (Age 3-12- $18) (Age 2 and under - Free) (Groups of 10 or more - $20.) Hontoon also offers 18 Riverside Rooms and Suites, Pontoon and Fishing Boat Rentals, Ship's Store and Dockside Deli.
