Great, quiet park. We did the ipaddleport.com kayak and paddleboard rentals ($10/hr) and had Lake Betty to ourselves. There was some seaweed near the kayak launch area but otherwise, water was clean and refreshing on a hot, summer day. A few people fishing and walking. Great family experience to kick-off Independence Day weekend.

We are currently operating under WINTER HOURS. Guided tours are only available SATURDAYS and SUNDAYS until March 1st. Due to the ongoing pandemic, guided tours are limited to 6 people at time. Please call for more information. The Historic Daniel Boone Home features the home of the legendary hero Daniel Boone and his family. The four-story, Georgian style home was built in the 1800's overlooking the Femme Osage Valley. The village, is comprised of over a dozen 19th century buildings including the Old Peace Chapel, grist mill, schoolhouse, and carpenter's shop. Together these buildings help visitors understand life on the Missouri frontier. As a county park, visitors are welcome to walk around the grounds at their leisure. Guided tours are available of the Boone Home and/or village. Group tours and school group programs available with reservations. Not all buildings are handicap accessible. The Old Peace Chapel and Grand Pavilion are available to rent for weddings and private services.
Of course, any Daniel Boone enthusiast like my father is would enjoy visiting his last home, the one in which he got to attend his own "funeral" and later, to pass from his long, rich earthly life. Many questions we came prepared to ask were answered as factually as possible, and one or two were fielded by Papaw himself! New information we learned of his life in Missouri endeared us even more to the man, especially "facts" that enriched--some challenged--the "fiction" on which we had been well schooled. The very floorboards, fields, and forests Daniel trod with precious grandchildren made this trip with my husband, father, and son one of our most valuable!

Great wine, and one of the few wineries that allow a picnic basket with your own food so you don't have to get robbed with overpriced cheese/meats/sandwiches. Used to love Montelle until they got greedy years ago. Now, Sugar Creek is the "go to" place on the wine trail.

Short drive from the city from hwy 64 on hwy 94. Everything here is great. The food choices are great for a winery. Wine is great but there are other adult beverages for non wine drinkers. Indoor and outdoor seating with music on weekends. It’s always a great time with friends and family and romantic afternoons. The Sunday branch is also fantastic. As wine club members there are great benefits. Everyone wants you to have their special bonus card at every business you enter and purchase. This wine club actually pays off a good dividend.

We really enjoyed two weeks in Missouri Wine Country, staying at the YFH Winery in Defiance, Missouri, i in early December for the Augusta Christmas Walk, and wine tasting. Great getaway in this two bedroom, adults only farmhouse which only a few years ago was an active winery. The stay was most comfortable, and the owners very accommodating to our every need. For less than $200 a night, for two couples, the YFH Winery in Defiance is affordable as well. Nestled on the "S" curve on State Road 94, you don't miss any of the action, and are only 75 yards from the Kay Trail for biking and exercise. Robin's Nest and Bike Rentals are close by, with food across the street at the Roadhouse Squirrel Bar. We've already booked another visit to the YFH, and look forward to our next visit to Defiance!
Travel along the historic Lewis and Clark path on the Missouri River! We offer an 8 mile or 23 mile trip in a canoe, kayak, or raft. Life jackets and paddles are included, as well as the shuttle to take you to the drop off point and pick you up at the end of your float. All floats end in Weldon Springs, Missouri. Reservations 24 hours in advance required. Please contact us at 636-485-5163 to book!

Experienced staff, great selection of annuals, perennials, trees, etc. I always regret it if I go elsewhere! Indoor area and patio with food isn't something we've tried yet.

Can't say enough good about this shop. Friendly and helpful people. Plenty of good gear and supplies on hand. We rented bikes for a large group ride on the Katy Trail and they were especially helpful all along the way. Bikes were brand new, high quality and fitted for each rider. Owner and team obviously take pride in their business and customer service. We will be coming back over and over.
