You are one of many fishing charters to choose from so in order for us to want to use you again or refer our friends and family to use you, you have to pretend for 5 hours to welcome us on board and enjoy our company. By not showing us any warmth or hospitality, we feel like you resented us being there. We don't have to be best friends by the end of the trip, but a little engagement goes a long way. Or show off your expertise and knowledge by sharing a story or two of past trips. Everyone likes the story of the biggest catch or the one that got away. Keep an album on board to show off. Your first mate worked really hard to make sure we caught rockfish and his personality only came out when a woman engaged him in conversation at the very end when he cleaned all the fish.

My boyfriend loves charter fishing so we're always looking at all our choices every year ...

SAILING from historic Galesville,MD less than an hour east of Washington. I celebrated my 70th birthday on the Non Sea-Quitter with four close friends. Captain Paul's wit, warmth, enthusiasm, and competency made for a memorable time. The sail was exquisite as we glided through the water and even outwitted some clouds. I cannot think of a better way to celebrate any event or to just experience the goodness in life.

Jack Creek Park

Great park for a quick hike rewarded with a beautiful view of the Chesapeake Bay. A lot of bald eagles, blue herons, deep, wildflowers and even a turtle. If it has rained recently, boots are a good idea. Not sure I would come during mosquito season and I'm sure the ticks would be bad, so plan accordingly.

Calvert Kettle Corn is one of the big reasons I look forward to the coming of spring. The smell of the fresh popped kettle corn is one of the best parts of the beach and Calvert Kettle Corn makes some of the best I have ever had.

Chesapeake Beach Railway Trail

Reviewed By Mark I - Owings, Maryland

This trail provides an excellent opportunity for everyone to get out and strech your legs while enjoying the natural beauty of Fishing Creek. The trail is primarily boardwalk through the marsh, which allows you to see working crab boats and fishing charters as well as osprey nests and shore birds. The trail splits after approximately 1/2 mile and if you go left you walk into a forest along an old rail corridor. The trail ends on a bridge spanning the creek, but you can see that the abandoned rail corridor continues just waiting for the next segment of trail to be developed.

This winery is so lovely and the wines so interesting that I keep coming back, with different groups of people, and they love it as much as I do. Doug and Maureen, the owners, care about the wines they grow, the land they tend, and the guests they serve. It is a great experience to visit their winery, taste the wines, and enjoy the outdoor patio. I already look forward to my next visit.

Great fun going paddle boarding in Deale! Nice boards, reasonable price, clear instructions, lovely paddle up Rockhold Creek (with a bonus of getting some exercise!). Nice way to spend an afternoon. We'll go back with family later this summer for paddle boards or they have kayaks too... I haven't tried one of Andrea's classes yet, but it's on my list! I highly recommend Chesapeake Paddle Sports.

The Sailing Academy - Day Classes

Reviewed By Carolyn L - Manasquan, New Jersey

My husband and I went to The Sailing Academy for our anniversary weekend. WE went to rest and sit by the water and reconnect. It was a wonderful setting. Captain Jeff Bowen took us out for a sunset cruise and taught us the "how to's" of sailing. It was a wonderful night! The marina has a pool area, restaurant, plenty of picnic tables and grills, and the bathrooms are all updated and just like home. I would recommend a visit! If you have a desire to sail, Captain Jeff's whole family (it is family run) can help you! They provide classes and camps all season long. Great for team building! Loved it!

Bayside History Museum

Reviewed By EnergyCounselor - Bethesda, MD

If you are spending any time in North Beach, MD, and especially if you have an interest in what this area was like when it was the closest beach to Washington and Baltimore, the exhibits will draw you back to a time when steamboats and trains discharged visitors here (and in Chesapeake Beach). Scouts will find the exhibit on Camp Roosevelt interesting. Great pictures and nicely designed exhibits (and a pleasant staff) make it a worthwhile stop.
