We arrived in Taipei after a 5 week trip to SE Asia. I had been to Taipei previously but my wife had not. After getting a good night sleep our guide Winnie met us at our airport hotel. She arrived early and waited for us while we finished our breakfast. She was very friendly and provided us with a briefing of what we could do in the 6 hours that we had to explore the city. She was very interested in making sure that we did what we were interested in doing and also recommended must see attractions. She was also very conscious about making sure that we could get back to the airport in time to check in for our flight. Aside from being extremely knowledgeable and personable, she was extremely funny. We spent more of the day being entertained while being educated. I cannot speak highly enough about Winnie and how much we enjoyed her company and the day tour. I highly recommend Winnie and City Unscripted.

Our party of 5 traveled to Taipei in November and we went on a 4 day private tour with Justaiwan Tour. I worked with Max to plan the trip and he was extremely patient in answering all my questions and worked with me to modify my itiniaries. Warren was our tour guide and he was very accommodating, going out of his way to make sure that we had a good time. He was even willing to adjust his work hours and worked longer on certain days so that we can keep up with our itineraries. The tour company and Warren were very responsive; they made us feel like we had a family in Taipei who's always watching out for us to make sure that we are safe and have a great time. I reccomended the tour company to all my family and friends and will definitely contact them again when I return to Taiwan.

Taiwan is known as Treasure Island. There are many wonderful sights to see. Taiwan is an island of great diversity, but driving yourself is not always the favoured option. The mountain roads have many twists and turns. I have driven through the Sierra Nevada, New Zealand and Ireland. Taiwan is both far more urbanised and far more rugged..

On this experience you'll explore Taipei's most authentic night market Yansan with a knowledgeable Local Host, getting away from the crowds for a taste of the real Taipei! There’ll be hardly a tourist in sight at this no-frills spot, instead you’ll find the most authentic food in the city and crowds of locals picking up dinner on the way home or enjoying some street food on a veranda after work.  There’s no showy cooking techniques or blazing flame cooked noodles, but there are delicacies here that you won’t find anywhere else in the city. With a Local Host by your side, eat your way around Taipei’s best kept secret and discover the dishes that the locals really eat.

Inclusions: Private and personalised experience, 3 hours with a Local Host, 6 - 8 tastings of different street foods, Walking experience (if required, your host can suggest public transport or private taxi options), Hotel meet-up (available on request for central location)

Exclusions: Additional food and drinks from the ones provided in the experience, Tickets to any attractions, Transportation costs, Gratuities

Not so long ago, bicycles ruled the road in Taiwan. Two of the world's largest bicycle makers, Merida and Giant, have their origins in Taiwan. Bicycle is still the best way to see Taipei, just keep an eye out for crazy drivers. I rode my bicycle around Taipei for several years and came to no harm.
