【U&S = "Uncle and Sister" 】 We are Uncle & Sister (U&S). Graduated from the same university, we both love illustration and design and enjoy running wild with our imagination. Sharing the same ideals and passion towards design, together we started an illustration studio under the brand U&S, designing products with elements from local cultures. Our main services are illustration design and image authorization. We are also active in teaching illustration and promoting education in aesthetics. We created a group of barefooted elves with long foot hair called the “Barefoot Family”Barefoot shows a love towards nature and earth, telling people to love the earth; foot hair means preserving one's born traits, encouraging people to be proud of their original self.

Products with Indigenous Taiwanese Flare WasangShow, is created by a dream of fashion, and many interrelationship of cross-cultural experiences. Using their feet to visit each every tribe, and using their heart to picture ancestral legends. They explain stories behind each totem, and reassembling them, tailoring ancient myths into neat designs. WasangShow is an independent brand of Taiwanese clothing inspired by the visual elements of the local indigenous peoples. These fly designs incorporate aboriginal themes and inspiration from the great outdoors into unique garments that are comfortable and impeccably cut. The name was inspired by one of the founders – Derlabers Saw – whose name sounds like “peanut” in the Truku language, or “huasheng” in Mandarin. That became “WasangShow”, which is Cantonese for “fashion show.” We hope that our original designs can enable more people to encounter the richly diverse traditions of Taiwan’s indigenous peoples. If you love tea, this is a MUST VISIT. I found out about Lin Mao Sen from a blog post about the Dadaocheng area. The writer, who had been living in Taipei with his family for quite some time, claimed that Lin Mao Sen and the store right next to it were the best places in Taipei to find the best quality teas for the best prices. I was first approached by an older staff member who didn't speak English but he immediately directed me to a younger staff member who was fluent in English. As a tea enthusiast myself, I greatly appreciated the staff member's genuine passion and vast knowledge about tea. He talked extensively about black tea, green tea, jasmine tean, oolong tea, and pouchong tea while he showed me and allowed me to touch and smell each of the aforementioned tea types. I can be quite indecisive when I buy tea but thankfully, the staff member was patient enough to allow me to go back and forth to smell the teas we narrowed down. You may be surprised at the cost at first because the cost of 600 grams worth of tea are labelled on top of each tea canister. The highest quality teas may go as high as 2400 NT$ per 600 grams. Just keep in mind that you are allowed to buy a minimum of 150 grams worth of any of their tea so just divide the price in 4 and you'll come up with a more budget-friendly price tag. The store also sells other tea paraphernalia like teacups and teapots. After comparing the prices of tea at tea houses in Maokong to the prices of Lin Mao Sen, I can attest to its reputation as one of the best sellers of quality teas at fair prices in all of Taipei.
