Not a tourist site as such but a current place of worship a short detour off the road from Gwalior to Orchha so we decided to visit. This is a collection of many temples varying in size from four metres or so in height to the size of large churches dotted over the hillside. It is just a stunning attractive view and on a Thursday with no worshipers just us and another two Westerners a peaceful pleasant stroll, uphill but not too strenuous for over 60's. Being a place of worship your shoes must be left at the entrance, tip about 50R for looking after both pairs of shoes on our return.

Datia is known for the first freedom fight against the British Raj and Bundelas were the first few clan of Indians who started it. This is a beautiful palace built by the Bundela king - His Highness MAHARAJA GOVIND SINGH JU DEV. Situated beside gwalior-jhansi highway, this palace gives ample opportunity for every visitor to see the Indian history due to its convenient location and proximity to it
We family traveled MP tourist historical places Bhopal-Chanderi-Orchha-Gwalior in 7 days in November 2019. We visited Bhopal -2 days, chanderi-1 days, Orchha and jhansi-2 days and gwalior-2 days. Bir sing palace or datia palace was on route Orchha to gwalior at datia. The specialty of this palace is that it is of 7 floors and it took nine years to build it by Bir singh the founder of the Datia State in Bundelkhand. However, neither member from the royal family did ever live here. It represents Mughal architecture along with Rajput architecture. It was made to gift to the Mughal king Shah jahan for one day stay.
