Wednesday 19 August 2020, My husband and I started our day by walking round Postbridge. Postbridge is a small hamlet consisting of a few cottages, a church, a village community hall, ‘The East Dart’ public house, a local village shop and post office. Postbridge is most famous for its stone clapper bridge, probably early Medieval, with three spans of stone 15 feet. The rain had swollen the streams so that they were in full flow and very spectacular so we took lots of photographs of the river and the bridge. The bridge is well worth a visit went you are in the area.

Popped in when having a stroll around the churchyard. If you like a nose at churches this one is small clean and lovely. The lady volunteer was happy to chat about it's history and some of the unusual gravestones.

A wonderful and beautiful historic site displaying the wonders of ancient builders in the magnificent surroundings of Dartmoor.Worth a visit and you will likely see some ponies on the way

Spinster’s rock is at a Very rural location, in a quiet field adjoining a farm. The times we have visited there have been either sheep or a pony accompanying us. A wonderful array of lichens and mosses grow on the rocks of the dolmen. If you use google maps you are unlikely to find the rock as you’ll end up directed somewhere near chagford. We tend to spend about 20 minutes there. Plenty of parking alongside , we’ve only ever seen one other visitor , it doesnt tend to be a busy place unlike some spots on the moor .

Wonderful walk to here whether from Princetown or along the tavistock rd. The views along the way are great. Lots to explore once there too. You can imagine how busy the quarry was and the people that lived there

This was our second visit to St Michael and All Angels and was as interesting as the first visit several years ago. Built by French and American prisoners of war (Napoleonic and 1812), the craftsmanship is breathtaking but to me more breathtaking is this is still an active church and although several 'tourists' came through while we were inside, the sanctity was not disturbed. The churchyard should be visited and plenty of time given to reading the markers.
