Darlington is a large market town in County Durham, in North East England. With a population of 92,363 in 2011, the town lies on the River Skerne, a tributary of the River Tees. The town is administered as part of the Borough of Darlington. The town owes much of its development to the influence of local Quaker families in the Georgian and Victorian era, and who provided much of the finance and vision in creating the Stockton and Darlington Railway, the world's first steam locomotive powered, permanent passenger railway. The town is often colloquially referred to as 'Darlo'.

Such a gorgeous gift for my dad's lockdown birthday! From the ladies at @cheesewineshop Claire was great, so knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and generally an all round perfect human ???? A fantastic selection, I just told her about my dad's likes and dislikes and she put together a perfect hamper, well within budget ???? Thanks so much for delivering and making a fairly old man exceedingly happy ???? Quote from Ted: "it's really really lovely, and I don't even have to share it!" ????

We live near this park and in my opinion it is one of the best I have ever been to. It's beautiful in every season and my kids have virtually grown up there. Plenty for all ages to do.

Darlington’s first Micropub - ORB Micropub; Ale and Whisky House. We focus on providing the highest quality local real ales, craft beers and a wide range of single malt whiskies. We also provide excellent bottled beers (including gluten free beer) wines, spirits and soft drinks. The definition of a Micropub is 'a small freehouse which listens to its customers and promotes conversation' and we want to give our customers every opportunity to get involved.
Absolutely brilliant. Good beer, superb atmosphere and great conversation. Don't miss this if you are in Darlington.

We have adopted this little bar in Darlington as one of our favourite chill out venues. We love VooDoo on Skinnergate and hearing the owners had branched out onto Duke St we thought let’s give it a shot. Great range of ales, wines and spirits on offer. It’s worth popping in regularly as they change over quickly but there is always something great on offer. It’s a really relaxed atmosphere and the two staff on duty at different times are friendly and really helpful especially Peter who is so down to earth and very funny but ask him a question re alcohol and he turns into a connoisseur with loads of knowledge!! It would be great for this place to offer food -maybe upstairs as VooDoo is excellent!

Fabulous food and great vegan choice! We all had a lovely meal and the vegan who was part of our party couldn’t believe the choice and quality of food- better she said than she had ever had before and considering she lives in London that’s pretty impressive. We enjoyed our parmos and the desserts were lovely. We will be back very soon!

I regular use this station as it is a good route to many places. There is technically only two sides to catch a train so easy to navigate. Plenty of parking £18 for 24hours Costa, Smith's, Cash machine, Staff available, ticket office and ticket machine.

This market represents the heart of the town. It has an impressive clock tower on the outside and an interesting market within selling fruit and vegetables, meat, fish as well as an extremely extensive haberdashery stall. There is a basic cafe inside and a number of eateries on the boundary.
