My stay here on their permaculture retreat was lamentably too short. Siddharth and Sweta were wonderful, literally making me feel at home in a country that is O so far away from being that. The experience on offer is highly integrative. Right from the materials used in your accommodation to their method of cultivation, this is all backed by a wealth of knowledge that the two collectively wield, all stemming from an ethic to live sustainably, locally and ultimately in harmony with nature. I think this was the best possible placed that I could have stayed to restore both body and mind before heading for a mountaineering course (which was great :). If being immersed in nature, learning to live according to its principles and hearing some heartening stories sounds like something for you, then you will love this place. I hope to go back and volunteer there one day.

The place is beautiful with beautiful hill back drop. The road from chalsa is slightly narrow but condition is good. It has some beautiful tea garden. The guest house of Samsing tea garden has one of the best location and view with turbulent river flowing in rains. A good and pleasant getaway from siliguri.

Seeing the sunrise kissing the peak of the mountain is a must if you can bear the pain of getting up early at 4 AM to be able to reach the tiger point to catch a glimpse of the sunray bursting out over horizon setting the peak literally on fire with all visitors across furiously clicking to capture the savoury moment for posterity . It is one feeling that lingers on in some dingy corner of your brain and your mind will scream for more.

We visited in December 2019. The menace of monkeys have lessened. The road leading from the mall is quite steep and a long walk. There are uncountable number of prayer flags around the temple and one can get a nice view of the lower ground through the thick canopy of these flags and trees. There's also a place near the temple door to keep shoes and slippers.

Lava with its pine dotted hill and sudden appearence and disappearence of cloud, Lava is a perfect destination for nature lovers as well as for the adventure tourists. The road to this small hill station with enormous flora of pine is a treat to the eyes. The Buddhist Monastery of Lava is the prime tourist attraction. A visit to this enormous holy site will give one the feeling of spirituality and serenity. A stroll through the road is a refreshing one. Some important tourist attractions like Chhangey Falls, Kolakham, Rishyap, Lolegaon and Kalimpong has made Lava a must visit location.
