Muzeum nabízí během roku různé výstavy v budově Tvrze a trvalou expozici dějin města v protějším Moučkově domě. Pořádá také další akce, např. muzejní noci, komentované prohlídky města, zpřístupnění věže farního kostela či přednášky.

We spent 6+ hours ... seriously ...exploring this fabulous museum. Each section was set out chronologically and kept us captivated with interesting displays that told the story of technology based on specific themes. Whilst mainly Czech focussed, there were plenty of english translations. Our first 2 hours were spent on the main floor; Time, Chemistry, Photography and a special exhibition. Then into the four storey Transport section where there were cars, trains, planes, motorbikes and bicycles. This was all before we could look at smaller exhibits on the 3 floors above and below the main entry level. There was also one section set up for kids to build things and play. Whilst I was particularly impressed with both the Time & Chemistry sections and how each related to everyday life in the past and present, I think whoever thought up and designed the layout for the entire collection has done an amazing job. On a practical level there are lifts to most sections and a restaurant as well. Lucky too that the museum was open until 18:00. I would highly recommend a visit to this museum for those who like to know how things work and how technology has evolved.

This is an excellent place for children aged 5 to 95 as it is both hands on fun and really gets you thinking about the practical aspects of physics. If you thought you never understood physics at school you will come away with a better understanding as well as having had a good time. Parents with children will love it.

My 2,5 year daughter was so impressed that we had to return the next day. She loved the gastronomy playground.

The Fort Science, the young science museum project by Palacky University, is in a beautiful area of Olomouc's Park. Te building itself - a historical place is well renovated, there is plenty of programmes and educational activities for kids, there is a giant model of human brain and much more. But the most amazing fact about this place - the whole family will spend clever time there. Not just like the kids are having fun while parents are bored.

Among the largest sets are the collections of natural science, which originate as early as at the end of the 19th century. They contain numerous and significant files documenting in particular the nature of North-Western Bohemia, Bohemian Central Uplands and the Ore Mountains. There are thousands of geological specimens of minerals, rocks, and paleontological recordsIn conjunction with building development in the historical centre of Usti nad Labem in the recent decades the archaeological collections have grown as well. The historical collections contain for example tens of thousands of photographs, negatives, lantern slides or postcards. Fine arts and handicrafts are represented by historical furniture, glass, collection of late Gothic xylography or landscape painting of the 19th and 20th century. The number as well as the quality of the collections has the Municipal Museum of Usti nad Labem among the most significant regional museum institutions in the Czech Republic.
