Welcome to our farm created two years ago around an experimental project using permaculture techniques. We invite you to discover our many cultures : Mango, guava, avocado, mandarin, banana, cotton, honey and more ! Know you the whole process of coffee picking, drying and roasting on a wood fire. Explain our work techniques by hand and those with our favorite tractors: our beef. We offer horseback riding to enjoy the magic of our landscapes in the valley, to discover traditional tobacco cultures and artisanal cigar production. We guide you to a mountain to enjoy the beautiful view and enjoy the typical Cuban drinks (mojito, piña colada, coco loco..). Come spend a moment of escape with us to the rhythm and style of the Guajiros.

I wasn't expecting much from this visit as I wondered how much could grow at such a height up - but how wrong I was! It is a truly magnificent place with an abundance of ferns and orchids to see, all beautifully laid out and cared for. The views of the surrounding mountains were also breathtaking and the whole experience was further enhanced by a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable English speaking guy. One of my favourite days in my 2wks in Cuba. I wondered when I got back why so few people seem to have been here as it should be a top attraction...but then I remembered it is quite a bit out and involves a very bumpy ride in a 4x4 to get there. Well worth it though if you can do it.

I visited the Jardin Botanico and enjoyed the 15 minute tour very much. It was great to see and learn about the different flora in Cuba. Our guide was knowledgeable and very nice. Check it out.

We definitely loved this stop. We spend one hour in this garden and were thrilled by its setting and a huge amount of tropical plants.

The Botanical Garden of Cienfuegos is considered one of the richest in the Americas because of the richness of its collections. We find it located in areas surrounding the current Pepito Tey Central, about 15 km from the city of Cienfuegos, the Pearl of the South, on the road that leads to Villa de Trinidad. It is said that in this jewel of Cuban greenness science comes to meet visitors in the form of botanical families, with genera and varied species. It is worth noting that it is the only institution of its kind that holds the category of National Monument in the country. The Botanical Garden of Cienfuegos is unique because of the picturesqueness of its setting and the peculiarities of its surroundings. It shows in its 97 hectares of surface, enormous jagueyes, legumes and bamboos, as well as an extraordinary collection of palms that is considered one of the ten most complete and important of America and the world.
I chose to book personal tour via Cubanacan, a reservation agent that has several offices in the city of Cienfuegos. It's easy to find. The Botanical Gardens has a significant presence in Cuba, and the history is quite interesting. It's a botanical research centre initiated in 1901 to study sugar cane production. But you can read lots abut this on the internet. Back to my experience. A personal tour is just that! The ticket cost 17 cuc, and it included transportation in a beautiful taxi to and from the city, accompanied by a lovely guide who is absolutely proud of and passionate about her city and country. I boarded the taxi at 8:30 am and was back in the city by 12:30. The Cubanacan guide gave a detailed history of many sites along the way during the 20 minute ride. Once I arrived at the gardens, I was introduced to my professional site guide, equally passionate about botany and ornithology. His English was perfect and clear. He shared many stories about specific plants and trees, the countries they orinigated from many of the species are foreign, contributions. But most of his passion was invested to the birds. On his cellphone he had recordings of local bird calls, and he'd play the sound and within minutes the bird owning the call appeared in the trees. It was so exciting. He would dance with joy. Our guide made our visit to this park so memorable, as we shared many laughs, and funny stories. I never felt rushed. After the guide's job was finished I was permitted to tour further into the garden on my own, where I was joined again by the Cubanacan tour guide. Within the par is a gift shop, restaurant, greenhouse and bar. I was offered complimentary fresh juice, and could linger for lunch if I chose. My taxi waited there for me at my leisure. If you plan to visit the gardens, allow yourself 3-4 hours total including the travel time. Take lunch or plan to stay for refreshments. I can't express the value of paying for the full tour. Having guidance and explanation of this establishment plant life is so informative and interesting. Otherwise, it's just a walk in the park. I also recommend an early morning visit before the sun peaks. It can get very hot.
