Bennett's Bar & Lounge

Located just a few kilometers beyond the north county Dublin border, a quiet little hilltop village called Ardcath lies in the eastern arm of county Meath and is home to the locally renowned Bennett's Bar & Lounge. This traditional Irish pub is conservative, yet progressively modern with an atmosphere and setting like nothing you'll find in Temple Bar or anywhere else for that matter. With what some consider the best Guinness beyond St. James' Gate, Bennett's is the perfect place to get cosy infront of it's roaring open fire on a cold evening. Or better yet, if it's sunny out, enjoy our beer garden and quench your thirst with a ice cold pint of cider. Come visit Bennett's today!

Swans Bar Curragha

Paud O’Donoghue’s Forge and Swan’s Bar is owned and run by the Swan family. It is situated in the historic and picturesque little village of Curragha in the Royal County and is one of Meath’s oldest music venues. It is a place where people and music from different generations and cultures meet to create one of the most unique Irish Pub experiences Ireland has to offer. The secret to our success is simple; to look after each person, not as a customer, but as an old friend, and with good drink and good craic, they’ll always come back. So whether it’s a quiet pint in front of a roaring open fire; a mouthwatering visit to our old sweet shop; soaking up the craic, music and banter in our bar; enjoying old-time waltzing and jiving in Patsy’s Lounge; visiting Paud O’Donoghue’s historic forge, or simply watching the world go by in our beergarden, Swan’s of Curragha is the place to be.

Carranstown Lodge Tollstone

On holiday from the US my gf and I were on our way to Belfast from Dublin. We decided to get out of the city before stopping for lunch. Turned out it was a blessing of a choice. We stopped in and were immediately greeted with the Irish hospitality we’d heard so much about. Our server(which I believe to be the owner) couldn’t have been nicer. She suggested the peppered beef with mashed potatoes and veggies so we both took her advice. And this wonderful lady definitely knew what she was talking about! On our first bit we both looked at each other and our eyes lit up. The beef was tender and the gravy was made straight from the heavens! The rest of the meal was just as delicious. Afterwards our bellies was stuffed but we couldn’t turn down her offer of apple pie. Service and food both strong suits of this wonderful establishment. I strongly suggest if you get the chance make this one of your stops. Only about 30 minutes outside of Dublin.
