Every day is your way. This tour takes you to the top of a dramatic mountain road (made easy on our electric bikes!). You'll then picnic at the top in ancient woodlands with breathtaking views. Then it's down down downhill all the way through a stunning natural valley and on to Ireland's only fjord, Killary Harbour. Here we can catch a boat to sample some locally-farmed mussels with Simon and Kate and take in the dramatic scenery of the mountains plunging into the sea, maybe wave at passing dolphins, otter, salmon or other wildlife along the way. You can opt for a local seaweed bath massage before heading home. Had too much fun, food or Guinness to cycle home? Relax, we‘ll drive. This trip is for making memories and taking home more than just pictures. For those who tried the Bangor Trail last year and raved about it, this is every bit as good!
Inclusions: Gourmet lunch with local cuisine. Quality electric and regular bikes. A guide with jeep support. All equipment necessary, including panniers, helmets etc. Maps and binoculars provided. All drinks and snacks provided. Waterproof clothing offered., Local guide, Hotel pickup and drop-off, Lunch, Bottled water, Coffee and/or Tea
Exclusions: Although waterproof clothing is provided, we recommend you bring your own.
We've been to Westport on quite a few occasions but not always hired bikes, the occasions we did have been the most enjoyable. We didn't know what our plans might be so decided to hire the bikes and just enjoy the countryside and Greenway. I'm over 60 and not the fittest specimen and my wife had back surgery earlier in the year so we didn't want anything to strenuous. Paul was happy to let us go along the Greenway but suggested an alternative on an old mountain road which offered better views. He gave us directions and options to shorten the route if we felt it was too difficult. We followed his advice and the road...to the end. It was worth the effort, the scenery was spectacular and, apart from a short stand off with some sheep, we were alone for quite a bit of the way with nothing but natural beauty everywhere we looked. We were blessed with great weather in November and enjoying the day so much we didn't pay much attention to time. Paul was prepared to come and pick us up but we set off from Mallaranny and managed to cycle back to Westport (turbo power may have been engaged). I'd encourage anyone to try Electric Escapes if you're going to Westport, cycling on an E-Bike was a great way to see this beautiful part of Ireland and Paul is a wonderful host.

The tour is tailored to your stay on your day. This electric bike tour takes you off the beaten track. Cars here are rare and its your day to take your time to explore, find a secluded beach, secret waterfall or track and relax. Using the Greenway, Ireland’s only purpose built cycle route, we head off into a thousand square kilometres of wilderness exploring glacial riverbeds, waterfalls, bronze age forts, ancient abbeys and castles along the way. Stopping for gourmet lunch of local cuisine. This is a wilderness of many choices and each will give you a great sense of wonder and enjoyment. Here the sheep outnumber you by a hundred to one. Watch salmon leap up waterfalls, trout jump, herons and kingfishers dive and splash, and otters play.

Marjorie is a charming and outgoing Irish woman who loves meeting people and sharing her passion for food. One might think that there is little to say about a small town in North Mayo. This tour will change that. The tour takes two hours but there are so many stories that the tour could take much longer!
Inclusions: All Fees and Taxes

I would advise anyone visiting Belmullet Co Mayo to take the tour of the town with Neal Doherty. Neal is a mine of knowledge on the history of Belmullet and well worth the experience. His tour starts in the centre of town (outside the Bank of Ireland) and takes in all places of interest in this beautiful town. Very reasonably priced too.

With over 30 rooms on show, visitors can immerse themselves in life as far back as the 16th century when Grace O’Malley the Pirate Queen of Connacht ruled the land and seas around the estate. Built upon the foundations of one of her many castles which can still be toured in the dungeons today, the original Westport House was built in 1650 by Colonel John Browne and his wife Maud Burke, Grace O’Malley’s great-great-granddaughter. Since then it has undergone a number of developments under the direction of the celebrated architects Richard Cassels (of Carton and Leinster House architectural fame), James Wyatt and Thomas Ivory, progressing from a smaller, one room deep residence with a central open court yard to the stately square house complete with beautiful balustraded terraces that we recognise today.
