The Monday Echo is a songwriter and spoken showcase every Monday night. Each week, a different line up of about 7 local artists perform short sets of their own work. The night takes place in a traditional pub setting with no microphones or amplification. This "listening venue" makes it possible to hear every detail in the music and voices. The show happens every Monday in the basement of the Mezz bar in the heart of Dublin's Temple Bar district. The audience can reach the candlelit basement venue via a series of corridors and back stairs. Best to ask for directions at the main bar.

A long-standing independent and literary bookshop in Dublin city centre, with a carefully curated stock and a dedicated staff. We specialise in the humanities - especially Irish literature, poetry, culture and history. Our beautifully preserved Georgian building on D'Olier Street houses a literary café on the first floor, and is the headquarters of the Dublin Review of Books. We host literary and history events regularly - poetry readings, book launches, interviews, discussions.
I wish I'd had more time to spend here! Lovely book shop and beautiful & calm cafe upstairs. Good food and great mocha!

Since our foundation in 1932, we have strived to bring a little happiness to the world one chocolate at a time. Because nothing complements happiness better than coffee, in 1998 we opened the very first Butlers Chocolate Café in a beautiful corner of Wicklow Street in Dublin’s city centre. Our aim was to create a luxurious haven for chocolate and coffee lovers alike; a place where customers could enjoy the highest quality coffee, tea and chocolate beverages in stylish, welcoming and characterful surroundings. A free Butlers chocolate of choice is offered with every prepared beverage purchased!
They have a huge selection of various kinds of chocolates, cakes, muffins and brownies. They also offer quite a few hot chocolate variations as well as other hot and cold drink choices. We loved everything we got and also purchased several chocolate bars as gifts for family back home.
