Kinnagoe Beach is truly a little gem & is different from many of the beaches in Donegal in that it's smaller & more sheltered & surrounded by tree lined cliffs. It has very unusual sea worn rock formations, which are well worth exploring. The sand is golden which is typical of the fabulous beaches of Co Donegal. It's about halfway between Greencastle & Ballymagaraghy. Access is limited as the road is extremely steep close to the beach, so campervans beware!!

Wild Atlantic Adventure Centre is located on Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way. We offer Adventure, Heritage, Language and Activity packages combined with onsite group accommodation. It's Rugged and Liberating, allow yourself to be drawn by the constant rhythm of the ocean's roar and the consistent warmth of the people. You'll find the Ireland you've always imagined.

Lovely walks through the woods in Stranorlar along the river looking at the fairy doors. There's a few different walks to follow with wide paths & maps at various locations & different starting points with small free car parks. You can also cross the footbridge at the end into Ballybofey by Jackson's Hotel & walk past shops, then back over the road bridge into Stranorlar. There's also a few narrower paths on the other side of the road away from the river, through thicker woods, but is a bit steeper.

Very nicely equipped area. Lovely walk of 8 km with no obstacles and good signage. Reaching the Inch Island on foot is a worthwhile walk. Nice nature observation point, probably even better doing migration season.

Step back in time into an ancient woodland inhabited by extinct creatures to experience some of Ireland’s ancient lost wildlife. Walk among the ancient trees and encounter Bears, Wolves, Lynx and Monkeys on your journey through the past. ‘Wild Ireland’ is located on the Wild Atlantic Way and is the newest and most exciting visitor attraction in the North West of Ireland. Just a few centuries ago, Ireland was clothed in a thick blanket of Temperate Celtic Rainforest. Due to destruction and deforestation, this woodland has all but disappeared, in a small pocket of remaining woodland on the Inishowen peninsula, the hands of time have been rolled back to an era were ferocious beasts ruled the Irish countryside. Come see our Brown bears, European Wolves and Lynx back together in the Irish forest for the first time in thousands of years. Here they live in their natural habitat in the temperate rainforest. Lots of wild birds call our beautiful lake at Wild Ireland their home
I visited Wild Ireland today for the fourth time since they opened last October. I've taken these opportunities to bring family members and friends at different times. And each time I learn more about the animals. This morning’s talks were about the monkeys, otter, lynx, wolves and brown bears. I loved seeing the new animals, wild boar, cranes, owls, and how the owners are creating and expanding the habitat for all these animals they so clearly love and care for. The highlight today for me was seeing how lively the bears were – happy and settled compared to when they first arrived and just paced up and down. So if you love wild animals and want to know some of their history and links to Ireland’s ancient past, or if you just simply love animals come to this sanctuary set in a stunningly beautiful wetland that the owner is creating out of a vision he's held since childhood and learn. In this time of climate change it’s a lovely opportunity to see how we might all come to live alongside and respect the other creatures who inhabit our planet. Oh and by the way, the staff pay attention to Covid19 and to keeping everyone safe - there is plenty of room for people to spread out to keep social distance along the pathways and still hear the talks and we were, through the talks, reminded to be respectful of one another and to take responsibility ourselves and move apart if people got too close. Another great morning's visit and I'll be back again soon.
