The Cotswolds (/ˈkɒtswoʊldz/ KOTS-wohldz, /-wəldz/ -wəldz) is an area in south central England containing the Cotswold Hills, a range of rolling hills which rise from the meadows of the upper Thames to an escarpment, known as the Cotswold Edge, above the Severn Valley and Evesham Vale. The area is defined by the bedrock of Jurassic limestone that creates a type of grassland habitat rare in the UK and that is quarried for the golden coloured Cotswold stone. It contains unique features derived from the use of this mineral; the predominantly rural landscape contains stone-built villages, historical towns and stately homes and gardens. The population of the District is about 84,000.

There has been a weekly Antiques & Collectors' Market in Cirencester's Corn Hall every Friday for more than 40 years. The market starts setting up from just after six every Friday morning, and officially opens at eight. Enthusiasts and collectors will find items here to suit all pockets, from a fiver to five hundred, and ranging from vintage and Art Deco, through to ancient and medieval. Glass, Ceramics and Silver can be found in abundance, as well as Jewellery, Metalwares, Furniture and works of art. Some of the dealers also specialise in Vintage stock, from the 1950s and 60s, including fashion, hats, accessories and costume jewellery. There are usually around 50 dealers, and entry is free. There is excellent town-centre parking.

it was a fabulous surprise to come across the shambles market in the middle of Stroud the Friday before Christmas 2017. It is held every Friday throughout the year and is a true delight. There was a stall called 'vintage mary' which i highly recommend if your into anything vintage or crafty - an abundance of good quality wool in a variety of colours! Also, there were many pre loved house hold items such as cutlery, plates and quaint little and large teapots along with cups and saucers - it is truly a must see!

Old Market Way is a lovely arcade in the heart of Moreton-in-Marsh, a picturesque Cotswolds town. Old Market Way houses a range of small businesses: a hairdresser, a jeweller, a bookshop, a sweet shop, a beer shop, a timber window shop, a bridal wear alterations service, a Greek deli and an Authentic Belgian Waffle Cafe. They are very happy to welcome you!

The markets are key economic and tourism features of our thriving market town and we are delighted to offer a wide range of markets throughout the year. Cirencester's Monday and Friday Charter Market is one of the oldest charter markets in the country and was mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086. The Cirencester Farmers' Market takes place every second and fourth Saturday of the month and the Arts & Crafts Market is held on the first Saturday of each month between February & December. A number of speciality Markets, including continental, international and garden markets are also held during the year offering something for everyone. We're delighted to have been jointly awarded the 2018 Market Team of the Year Award by NABMA (National Association of British Market Authorities) along with Ely Markets.
